Hair/makeup Trial

How far out should I schedule my hair and makeup trials? I know who will be doing both already but not sure when to book the trial run.

I would do it within 3 months of the wedding, but there’s really no set timeline. I did my makeup trial yesterday for my 11/23/2019 wedding and my hair trial will be on the day of my bridal shower, 10/20.

I don’t think it matters too much— just take pictures! I did mine fairly early (maybe 6 months in advance?) as I was getting married out of state and happened to be in town for a visit. I too was fully committed to my stylist so wasn’t going to be changing that even if I changed my mind on style— I didnt, but there were a few things from my trial that I didn’t like and wanted to change. I just kept the pics, and the day of the wedding we looked at them and I pointed out the things I wanted done differently, and all turned out perfectly Smiley smile

My wedding is November 2nd and I did mine September 25th. They suggested 6-8 weeks before the wedding

If you’re using the trial to narrow down between HMUA, then I’d say do it sooner than 3 months, maybe 6 or so months. If you've already booked someone and just want to meet with them to go over your look for the big day, it can wait until 3 or so months. In my area, a good bridal hair and makeup artist can be booked up 6 months to a year out.

I did mine about 3 months out. Then I scheduled my engagement pics the same day so it wouldn’t go to waste!
