Hair/makeup trials free?

Hey folks, I'm searching for a hair/makeup artist to come on site in the Hunt Valley area. Are trials usually free and if not what do they typically cost?

    Trials usually have a fee involved. My trial is $150. Makeup artists don't want to feel they are doing work for free. If you don't decide to book them after the trial it ensures they are still getting paid for their work.

    I've never seen a free trial. The cost can vary widely depending on your area and the skill/popularity of the artist. In my area they can be anywhere from $50-$200.

    My makeup trial is only $10 less than my wedding day make-up.

    I don’t know if my trial will be both hair and makeup, but I know it’s at least $100. My hair price is $80 day of, but she explained the trial is more expensive due to trying multiple looks.

    My trial for make-up is $25 for hair it is free. I am actually doing it today Smiley smile

    My trial is included in the cost of my HMUA, so I will just tip the day of the trial, but I am also taking a risk by booking before the trial. Just depends how you go about it!

    My trial was the same amount as my wedding day makeup as it takes the same time/amount of makeup for both!
