Hair/mu for bridal party

Heather, on June 11, 2019 at 5:51 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
Do I have to pay for their hair and makeup or is it OK for me to provide them with a price list and make services an available by my artist? The one I'm hiring is really expensive, but I want her for my hair and makeup. Would I look like a real jerk by making others aware of her prices ahead of time and asking who would be interested in purchasing services?

Nope! You definitely don’t have to pay if you’re making it optional. I chose a HMUA for myself, and let the ladies know if they wanted to get it done with me those were the prices.

As long as you are providing the prices and letting them know it's optional then no, you aren't being a jerk. Smiley smile you only pay if you require it (or desire to do so as a gift.) Otherwise, it's completely fine and etiquette correct to let them know her prices and a date when they need to let you know by/pay by (your artist likely will give you a deadline) and let them know it's available to them but entirely optional.

This is exactly what I'm doing too. My ladies can opt to do their own, but they are free to book my HMUA if they can afford it.

You certainly don’t have to pay for them. Give them the option of using your girl and provide the pricing and let them choose.

You're not a jerk at all. You'd be a jerk I'd you absolutely required it. Every wedding I've been in, the bride has told us about hair and make up and told us the price ahead of time. It ended up costing us each about 200 bucks, but we all did it. So don't be too worried about it. Just let them no, say no pressure, and put ball in their court . Xo

What I did was offer to pay for hair/makeup, on place of a bridesmaid gift. So they had a choice. Either their hair and makeup was my gift to them or they could pay their own and I would get them a gift. I gave them a couple weeks to decide.

If it's optional, you don't have to pay!

If you are requiring a particular hairstyle, then yes. But if you are giving them the option of having it done or not, then no.
