Hair/mu Trial- Help. Opinions

Patricia, on June 5, 2020 at 8:20 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 24

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday

I could REALLY use your opinions. I had my makeup and hair trial yesterday and at the time I was happy with it, but everyone I've showed have said they didn't like it. I do know I'd like to make some changes like smaller lashes among other things, but does it really look THAT bad? Don't pay attention to the lipstick. That won't be the final color. I just haven't bought the one I want yet.

My MOH said I should get another trial with the lady, but I can't really afford to pay the money again 😣Hair/mu Trial- Help. Opinions 1

I agree the lashes are too long, and I feel like the dark eye shadow either goes up too high, or it’s just too dark to begin with?

    Otherwise it looks great!

Thank you. I thought the same after fact!

I forgot to post my inspiration picture! I think I might need to go with a softer makeup

Your hair is super gorgeous! I think the lady did a great job with those curls. I do agree on smaller lashes, and it might be the light of the room but the foundation base looks all one color. Normally there is some makeup variation with a bit of blush or something to define your features a bit. I only know the basics of makeup so I might not be phrasing this right.

    Thank you so much!

I agree on that. I don't know a lot about makeup either but it does need a bit more dimension. More contouring (?). My FH did also say that in some lighting I looked like my face and my body were 2 different colors. We definitely don't want that! Lol 😅

I'll be the odd one out and say you look awesome as is! Honestly, I wouldn't change anything. Do YOU like it? In the end, it's really your decision. Some girls go for more dramatic looks and there's nothing wrong with that and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Yeah the inspiration pic I think the dark part doesn’t go as high up, and the lighter colors (by her eyebrows and by the center of her eyes) are darker than yours and are blended in a little better, so it’s a softer transition

Thank you so much, Jana 😊! I don't wear makeup on a daily basis, so I wanted to try something different for the wedding. I tried a bit more of a dramatic look like you were saying, but I'm not sure if it's just too much for me or if I didn't quite like the makeup itself. I definitely didn't like a few things, but now I'm second guessing the whole thing.

The good thing is I still have 3.5 months left until the wedding! Enough time to figure it out lol

If you don't wear makeup on a regular basis, it can be really jarring to see yourself done up. It's totally natural to second guess the whole thing if you're not used to the look. Maybe your MOH can practice looks on you in the mean time to see what works best if you don't like this? Take pictures to the makeup artist on the day of or just have a friend do it for you if that works better and save the money on the makeup but keep the hairdresser.

That sounds like a great idea! I'll do that until I can find something and feel confident. Thank you for the suggestion

I love your hair and I am considering some styles like that but the eye shadow is a bit too dark and yes shorter lashes would be best. I think if you go a bit lighter on the eye make up you could do some red lipstick to really pop. Smiley winking

Honestly, your hair looks amazing. The make up not so good. The eye shadow and contouring around your face is not blended well. It also does not look good in pictures. A good make up artist knows how the camera flashes will affect the make up in pictures. I think you are a pretty girl and this make up does not fit you. I would look for someone else.

I like your inspiration pic but think the eyeshadow needs toned down to be more compatible with your skin tone. Right now it looks too dark. Also, maybe a little bit of bronzer and/or blush to add some warmth and dimension to the cheeks, etc. Your hair is on point!

I love your hair, though the lashes are to long and the make up washes you out rather than enhance your natural beauty. I think you could try out looks at Sephora and it could be cheaper of an option to play around with looks until you find the look. Sephora also allows you to purchase the item used for your make up in exchange for the make up being done.

I think the shadow is one or two shades too dark. And I think you need a bit of blush. You can adjust that on wedding day. I think for lips you want a softer pink - not as bold as picture.

Your hair looks great! The makeup I think has the same problems everyone else is saying - the dark eyeshadow is too dark and shaped wrong (goes up too high and starts too far out) and you need more contouring/blush because your face doesn't have dimension to it, so you look almost pale on my screen - like you just saw a ghost or something. I think it's definitely fixable though!

The eyeshadow is dark, which can work, but it’s not blended enough. And I agree, go for a wispier, more natural lash.

I don't wear makeup at all either so I totally understand the "is it too much for me or is it weird for others to see me in makeup" thing. Do you remember how much you liked the makeup when you first saw yourself? You should focus on that rather than second guessing, which I know can be hard to do! And just because there are aspects you want to change, that doesn't mean you don't like other parts!

You look great! However I can see where it doesnt look like the inso pic and could be improved on. The dark eyeshadow is to inwards and the under shadow of the inspo is more of a peach rather than the darker the MA used and smeared to low, and the eyelashes are more round than the dramatic with thicker at the end, she didnt add bottom lashes, and the contouring isnt blend and doesnt fit your face shape, and she forgot to do your eyebrows.

I feel like the eyes are a bit overdone - the eyeshadow is dark and seems a bit heavy on your lids and the lashes are really long. Overall its your day and if you like it that is what matters. I don't wear makeup every day and generally go for a more natural and subtle look when I do, but if you normally like darker and more glam makeup, this may be more your style.

I do think a softer, brighter look would be more flattering on you with your fair skin. The eyes just look too dark compared to your other features, IMO. I think going a little softer on the eyes (you can still use a dark color, just blend more) and maybe adding a little bit of other color to your face (subtle contour and blush) would look result in a more cohesive bridal look. The eyes here are just a bit costumey compared to the rest of your makeup and your hair, which seem softer and more romantic!
