Hairstylist.....what’s considered too much $$

I’ve been researching hairstylist and noticed that their prices are all different (expected). However, some of these prices I feel are too much. How much is too much? How much did you pay? Did you go to the salon instead of them coming to you? I don’t have a set budget for hair; however, I don’t...

I don’t have a set budget for hair; however, I don’t want to spend too much money either - any advice...

I'm in Houston and the salon that I'm considering wants $275 for hair and makeup for me, and $160 for hair and makeup for my bridesmaid. This is makeup with "lashes", and doesn't include a tip. They will come to our venue. So that's over $500 for 2 people. I'm very close to booking but they have no cancel, no changing the date and my wedding is for 7/25 so I'm going to hold out another week or so....Prices seem crazy but I've already spent so much, why get conservative now. Yikes!

Maybe, you can try a beautiful wig. I paid $95 for hair.

If you have a regular hair salon you go to, have you asked them? I got married at a venue not far from the salon my mom and I have both been using for years. Because we've been regular customers for so long, she gave me a break on the price. They do event/bridal hair and make up in general, so it wasn't anything outside of their wheelhouse. I actually ended up having us go to them because the owner told me she could have more stylists working on everyone to get us out faster if we came there instead of just sending 2 stylists to us (there were 8 of us in total). She even opened the salon an hour early for us because it fit in the timeline better. My hair and make up cost me $200 + tip and I'm in central NJ. I looked at other places for curiosity and saw most quotes starting at like $250 for hair and make up.
