So my SO and I are kind of "dark". Halloween has always been the best time of year for us.We were thinking of doing a manor venue wedding with slightly dark details (black and dark wine colors) on the eve of Halloween 2020. All my close friends who know us were not surprised AT ALL. However Im wondering if this would seem "tacky" to other people? Like our co-workers/bosses ect. The wedding will be smallish (75-100 guests) and i guest i could easily do a different day. Please give me your GENTLE opinion.

Thanks!

My fiancé and I are definitely darker/goth. I adored a Halloween wedding idea but we wanted to be outdoors in our gorgeous PBW, and also our biggest reason for timing of wedding was my brother’s deployments.
i am wearing a black gown, bridesmaidsnin burgundy, groomsmen in black and plum. Theme is kind of gothic woodland glam.
There are tons of classy Halloween and gothish type wedding ideas on Pinterest. I say hell yeah! There will always be naysayers and they can shove it. Your wedding your way. Fh family is very conservative and catholic so our wedding will definitely offend some sensibilities and they are welcome not to attend if they wish.

I actually think a Halloween wedding would be amazing! If that’s up your alley I would totally do it. I went to a wedding the week before Halloween a few years ago and they had pumpkin centerpieces that the guests at that table got to carve and sign, the couple took them all home for their porch!

The only thing I think you should think about is do you have any guests with kids? Regardless of if you’ll be inviting the children or not, many parents would be taking their kids trick or treating on Halloween so that may interfere with your wedding if you have it on Halloween

I think it really depends on you guys. Though I wouldn’t throw a Halloween themed wedding for myself, I’ve heard of other people doing it and one of my friends is actually planning hers for November 1. If it’s what makes you and your SO happy, that’s what you should do! This day is supposed to be about you guys. Best of luck!!

I think this is an awesome idea with so many possibilities! Make it a masquerade ball with those deep wine colors and black would be so elegant and fun!

I say do it!! But I grew up in South Louisiana and we party for anything, plus we live to have costume balls ( Mardi Gras). I see deep dark moody florals( wine and plum) with black. I just saw an invitation suite on Etsy that would be lovely for an elegant, Halloween wedding. You could wear a beautiful black dress. Rock a long, cathedral length veil for sure!! Keep us updated!! Have fun.

I think that would be fantastic! If its something you both are into I say first for it. Its your wedding! You can also make it really classy and elegant still, doesn't have to be "Halloween". There's lots of beautiful things you can do. Here's some beautiful things I found on Pinterest. Hope this helps!

I'm not typically into 'themes' or 'colors' for weddings, which is why we didn't really have either - my BMc wore navy, b/c that's what I liked, the guys wore tuxedos, groom had a green tie b/c that what he likes, and our flowers were white.
BUT the weddings that have a theme done right, like the photos posted/ you've pinned, or the pirate wedding by Pirate & 60s Bride are to die for. I say do it!!!!

Would you tell guests they can wear costumes? H's cousin did this - she wanted a catholic ceremony, then a themed reception where people could dress up. B/c of the "catholic gap" (a few hours between ceremony and reception) it worked perfectly and most people dressed nice for church then went home and put on costumes. Although, she did have difficulty finding a church that was ok with them getting married on Haloween (eve even).

I'm getting married this year (2019) in October, and we decided to do a masquerade themed wedding. That way it has the elements of Halloween that we love through a more elegant lens. We also have a lot of friends and family members with children so to keep them entertained we have a mask making station planned out. Our colors are black, plum and gold

I’m doing a halloween wedding and doing a Victorian soft gothic and formal. Some touches of the dark with some little animal skull details in gold and black and deep dark purple for our colors. I wanted a grey dress but couldn’t find one so I opted for a dress with white brocade lace and darker mauve under color that’s not too pink that’s completely caked in silver threading and bling. Its pattern reminds me of Victorian lace. Including a few of my inspiration pics for ya

My wedding is on Halloween next year; we're not doing a Halloween theme, just little nods here and there with some cute coastal themed Jack-O-Lanterns. But do what makes you happy, and don't let anyone dissuade you. It's your day, not theirs.

I quite nearly had a Halloween wedding. It was close. The only reason we didn't was because the person we wanted for our officiant HAD to have a Saturday. (Obviously we could've gotten a different officiant if we wanted but this was more important than the day to us.) So I'd say go for it!
