Hand addressing invitation envelopes?

Hey guys I have heard that traditionally invitation envelopes are hand written, and I like this idea. I have decent handwriting, but it still makes me nervous that they won't look as nice, because I can't write in pretty cursive or calligraphy or anything, LOL! I'm sure I am overthinking this,...

Hey guys Smiley smile I have heard that traditionally invitation envelopes are hand written, and I like this idea. I have decent handwriting, but it still makes me nervous that they won't look as nice, because I can't write in pretty cursive or calligraphy or anything, LOL! I'm sure I am overthinking this, but what did you do/are you planning on doing for your invites? Should I just get printed address labels?

I promise I'm not ghosting you. I have been having printer and computer problems for 2 days. I will post a pic of the labels hopefully tonight.

Glossy clear 2" x 4" labels. So much better than the matte labels.

I have horrible hand writting. So does fiancé. I am doing labels. I don’t have extra money to hire someone to do it for me.

I got return address labels and a stamp. I'll probably just hand write the STDs and Invites by hand but there's only about 30 of each so it's not bad

Yes, I printed them at home on an ink jet printer. One page at a time.

One of my friends (and groomswoman) is amazing and dabbles in calligraphy, and she addressed our save the dates and invites. She did the names, and I wrote out the addresses in simple block print. 😊

I just sat down and handwrote 75 addresses for save the dates. It went a whole lot faster than I thought.

I ordered my invites thru minted who addressed them to the guests for free. Looked way better and was less stressful then when I did my save the dates

    Hi!

I personally hand wrote my save the date envelopes and also plan to address my invitations myself as well. I, like you, have pretty decent handwriting, and although I am also not great at the trendy lettering techniques or cursive either, I just personally don’t see the benefit of the added cost of getting them addressed... people will be throwing that part away as soon as they open your invite!! If you have extra $$ to spend, I just think it could be put towards something more practical or the part that will hang on people’s fridge! Smiley smile

I hand addressed my save the dates and plan to hand address the invites! They were not perfect and I like things perfect but this was different. I wanted to take my time to write out my guests names to create an emotional connection. I sent my save the dates over 3 months ago and I don't regret hand addressing them at all.

We hand wrote them. Well technically, HE hand wrote them and I stuffed, stamped and sealed em while drinking a cocktail.

Return address was a rubber stamp that we had created for the wedding stationary needs but will obviously work until we move.

The funny bit was realizing that we didn't have enough of the "pretty flowery wedding stamps" and had to supplement with a mixture of Wonder Woman stamps and patriotic Flag stamps on the verge of being "retired" that I had accidentally washed in my wallet a few times.

"Which person won't notice the ruddy flag stamps?"

"Which person will squeal at the Wonder Woman stamps?"

P.S. Wonder Woman is the only woman that my future husband would leave me for!

P.P.S. His obsession with Wonder Woman now explains why I am being twirled all over the dance floor in our first dance routine. I bet that he even called and chatted with the dance instructor lol

We used printed envelopes. There was no way I was going to take the time to address every envelope.

We did clear labels for all of the addresses (STDs, invitations, RSVP cards, and thank you notes) for both addresses. It made it really easy. Plus, we're both arthritic in our hands and fingers, so writing the addresses would have been problematic to say the very least.

I think our current plan is to do wraparound labels with navy envelopes (which fits our wedding colors but would be harder to write or print directly on). Etsy has some great options - I like this shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/StudioNellcoteDesign?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=602346582&section_id=21693780 and also this one https://www.etsy.com/listing/688067657/printable-address-label-calligraphy?ref=related-1
