Hand delivering Std's ?

Haley, on December 31, 2019 at 12:37 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

Did you guys mail out (aka - pay for stamps!) all of your STD's or did you hand deliver some to your local people you see frequently?

Is this weird?
I don't see the point in mailing my STD to my grandma who I see every day. Or even some of FH family members if i'm going to lunch with them next weekend and planning to send out STD next week anyway.

I've thought about this as well... we have some friends that we see weekly and live very close. For a few of them we are considering giving it to them when they come over to our place or something. I will still put it in the envelope addressed to them.

That's what i'm thinking too. we have a group of friends we see at least once a week and it seems weird to pay for a stamp for them.

We hand delivered STDs to my FH’s local family (most of his family lives very close to one another). We actually made a day of it and drove around to their houses. It was nice because we were able to spend 15-20 minutes with each of them just chatting and they all loved the hand delivery. Everyone outside of our immediate ~6 mile radius had theirs mailed to them.

Ok cool. Glad to know this wouldn't be totally weird if we did this.

We did electronic STDs but I plan to hand-deliver the invitations to people I see frequently + co workers.

I did this! I handed out STDs to people I saw all of the time and it was definitely worth saving a few stamps! Plus it was fun to see their reactions to them.

Of course we mailed ones to people we don’t see often!

I’m thinking about doing this for my coworkers I’m inviting and also my neighbor (who is my stepmoms good work friend). I feel like that’s okay to do. It seems silly to me and for me to do it any other way, especially with my neighbor when we share a duplex.

Definitely not weird! I even gave some of ours waaaaay in advance because I only see my aunts & uncles during holidays and didn't want to pay for postage if I knew I was seeing them a few months before we were scheduled to send them out haha.

I say save on that postage!! We've honestly saved ourselves probably $20 in postage just by hand delivering!

You cant always do half and half if you often see your guests. Mails some, hand some off. It would just save you the stamps. Ive never heard it called an STD and its hilarious tho 😂😂 im sorry im immature

I handed all my save-the-dates to my guests in person. I didn’t think it was weird and neither did they. I’ve already spent a lot on stamps for our rsvp cards, so it’s nice we saved some money.

We literally took an afternoon and dropped std's to ppls homes via mailbox or hand to hand. People were genuinely happy to receive it face to face. mailed the ones that were too far about 20.

I don't call them STD in real life but in these forums, everyone uses the acronyms like BM (bridesmaid) GM (groomsman) FH (future husband) etc hahaha

I hand-delivered most of my save the dates to our local family and friends. I plan on doing the same with invitations. I'm not going to spend money I don't completely have to spend. I also like the idea of personally giving everyone their invites. The only ones being mailed are those I do not see on the regular or if they live in a different state.
