Hand lettering mirror signs

FutureMrsGray, on September 28, 2016 at 11:34 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

If anyone has done a DIY mirror sign for their wedding I would love to see pics! Does anyone have any tips or know of a good tutorial article/video on how to do it well? Here is the mirror I will use

Did you free hand that? Hoping to find advice on how to stencil or trace a pre-designed sign

Free hand or did he trace the design on the mirror. That is the part I need help figuring out.

I would ask your friends or family if anyone has a vinyl cutter and have them cut it for you!! I've done pretty much all my decor with mine and it comes off easy and it looks amazing.

Stencil is easy: type something into Photoshop or MS Paint, flip it on the horizontal axis, set in front of the mirror, and trace a bit at a time. You'll have to check your placement frequently because of your hand being in the way, but it's a super easy stencil.

ETA: you could also print normally and use a super bright led flashlight to shine behind the paper and the mirror's backing.

You can also use vinyl to stick on the mirror instead of writing. You may want to look into that option as well.

If the mirror makes it difficult to trace you might want to consider clear acrylic for a similar look. Someone posted acrylic signs on here a few days ago that looked really good.

I did it free hand as well. mna has some great recommendations. I felt like searching for a cricket was too much work.
