Handfasting cords help

Rebecca, on August 5, 2019 at 3:07 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8
I need to find red, silver, and purple handfasting cords, ASAP.

I didn't like the ribbon at Michael's, and I'm not super pleased with the selection on Etsy.
Anyone have any advice?

This one’s ours. I know you said you looked at Etsy, but there’s a lot of different styles on there. What kind of rope are you looking for? They have tighter celtic knot ones and looser ribbon style ones. Most handfasting rope sellers allow a completely custom option so you can pick your colors and charms.

I plan to go to joann's, hobby lobby, ac moore for the ribbon. I will say hobby lobby has a huuuge variety of ribbon. Are you wanting actual cord or ribbon??

There are no Hobby Lobbys near us (and I won't buy from them).

I'll look on Amazon... I should also probably go to the Fashion District and hit up the fabric stores.

I was hoping for cord, but I'll settle for ribbon if I have to...

I bought mine from Etsy, custom made with our colors, but have you thought about a mom and pop shop that does quilting in your area? There's always a specific fabric store too. I do like shopping at AC Moore if you have one of those.

What about ones like these? They’re actual cords and tied in celtic knots. They’re custom.
Sorry I have no idea where to find your own materials to make your own, I’ve never made one.

Wandered around the garment district in NYC today and found what I needed.

Got 1 yard each of three different cords. $10, done!
