Harry Potter centerpieces

littlemisssunshine, on March 15, 2023 at 11:20 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11
Hey everyone! I am feeling indecisive about our centerpieces. The theme is Harry Potter and we are using our house colors (crimson for Gryffindor and marigold for Hufflepuff). I’m torn between doing centerpieces based on different wizard world locations, or doing based the same kind on all tables but half with one color and half with the other. Did that make sense lol. I know I will need to figure out what to do with them after the wedding, which I was considering selling on a local wedding page. Input is appreciated!

Ooh, both are fun options! I like the idea of doing different wizard world locations or different spells or even different classes (potions, defense against the dark arts, etc)! That way, each table is completely different. A downside to this is that you probably wouldn't be able to buy stuff in bulk to use in the centerpieces, but an upside is that you could name the tables instead of numbering them, and guests may find it fun to go around to each table to look at the unique centerpieces. It also might be easier to sell them after the wedding if you do centerpieces themed with locations or classes or spells, since anyone else doing a Harry Potter themed wedding might not be using the same house colors as you.

That’s a good point about the colors, I didn’t consider that! Some of the locations I have been brainstorming are the Burrow, Quidditch pitch, King’s Crossing

Ooh, those are good ideas! For a quidditch themed centerpiece, you could do the goal posts, or something similar to this:

Or even add the golden snitch in there too (or make golden snitch themed favors from chocolates!):

You could also do Ollivander's as a location too, by incorporating a bunch of wands (could do chocolate covered pretzel "wands" as favors for this table):Harry Potter centerpieces 3

King's Crossing would be neat! You could find a toy train model or something similar to this (and have favors be something like train shaped chocolates):Harry Potter centerpieces 4

Different locations could be cool because you could also use it as a table numbering system. Like instead of saying “you’re seated at table number 3” it’s more like “you’re seated at the forbidden Forrest” 😂 a lot more fun and interactive.

I love the idea, so many options you can work with, Quidditch teams, houses, different schools, different forms of travel used throughout the books.. Some things are easily printed for do it yourself projects, there’s a lot of options on Etsy as well, my Harry Potter facet is my cake topper that I got from Etsy. We are covering a lot of nerdiness in our wedding. 😁 Harry Potter centerpieces 5

I love that! I’m making my bouquet as well, I’m using rhinestone buttons in the house colors for the flower centers.
