Has anyone been nervous about choosing a wedding planner to hire?

Victoria, on October 11, 2022 at 5:19 AM Posted in Planning 1 3
I’ve interviewed plenty of wedding planners and coordinators due to my type A personality. I also did my due diligence by trying to read reviews on different platforms and ask as many questions as I can. The problem is, I won’t know how things will turn out
truly until I really start working with them and have paid my deposit and until the day of. Have most of you guys been happy with the decision which seems like a gut instinct or have any of you had to switch planners mid way? Just wondering and thanks ladies. Feel free to help recommend any others as well.

My husband and I had talked to a few day of coordinators, and ultimately decided on one based on how much we felt we wanted to work with her. She did a great job! Definitely trust your gut on it, and also read all the reviews for them. If you feel like they're a good match and the price is right, then sign the contract. Though once you do lock in a wedding planner/coordinator, stop looking at other options, and only focus on working with the one you booked.

After talk to like 5 DOC/Planners I narrowed it down to 2. Made a pros and cons list/chart for both, called them each again with a couple questions and then made a decision. I factored in price, vibe, and if the person I was talking to would be my person.

I don't think my vendor decisions were based on gut instinct, rather I treated planning like business. One way to determine your team could be based on your own work experience. Think of persons whom you've managed, your good team experiences, or colleagues you admire. How were they successful? What is their professionalism? Which of their skills did you value? Most likely, they have skills that resemble or contrast/balance your own. Remember event planning is also execution, so consider if they can problem solve, communicate, and execute with a cool head as they represent your brand.
