Has anyone bought a replica wedding dress online? From DHGate.com?

Most times it is not worth trying to save a few dollars when ordering a formal gown. If you have to wait 30 to 45 days to have a company make you a dress, then it should raise red flags.

I have had customers share their poor experience of not being able to receive any correspondence once these companies have their money. They have also shared how disappointed they were once they received their dress.

I'm happy to hear good reviews about buying a gown from DH Gate... has anyone used Bridelee from there? I see she has a 95.6% positive review rating. Just curious as I have a dress picked out that I absolutely LOVE and really want to order but have heard horror stories about dresses from China not fitting etc. Anyone have anything to report? Thanks much!!

Took a risk and used the $200 i'd set aside for my reception dress to purchase a dress from the DHGate website. I purchased it a few sizes larger because I'd heard their sizing is sometimes off and figured I could just get it altered if that was the case. I'm SO glad I took the risk, the dress is an exact replica of the one I saw in the store. My friend is having her bridesmaids use that site since its probably even easier to make replica bridesmaids dresses.

This was a rollercoster of dont buy at DHGate and then DO buy with them.. so i am still questioning it! i think it all depends on who you go to as a maker.. can anyone suggest a maker that was a good experience.. I am looking for a really good quality fabric and maker for a Galia Lahav the style is Antonia.

DO NOT ORDER!!! my dress came and it looked nothing like what I had requested. It was see through and poorly made. When I tried to work with the seller to get a refund, she refused. I went through DHGate for my refund and 3 weeks later I ams till trying to get answers. They keep sending you in circles to get the refund. Its been an awful experience. Don't by from Aimibridal

I ordered a Paolo Sebastian dress from the swan lake collection a few months back ill attach the dress I ordered and what I got. I think they did fine with communication and everything I ordered a size 4 and thats what they sent so it was fine, all in all it wasn't too bad of a purchase, I'm not sure if I'm going to use it only because I didn't like how it fit me but it wasn't necessarily just the dress, I think the waistline didn't look that good on me because I'm pretty short. I ordered from dhgate, yin_zhang or something like that was the seller's name.

Glad I found this! Found my $1,500 dream dress for under $200 on dhgate.com. I ordered my prom dresses through a site out of China, tidebuy.com, and they came out nice. I'm just being more cautious about a wedding dress. I'll be sure to check out dressily. Thanks!

Has anyone heard anything about cobbdress.com? I cannot find any reviews or complaints online, however it shows on one site that there are 25 reviews and it has a 5 star rating. It is gorgeous dresses at discounted prices. Wondering if it is a scam. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you.

There is a seller on DHGate called honeywedding. DO NOT purchase from this seller. I ordered a wedding dress from this seller. I got it, I loved it. I ordered it early as a precaution. Thank God I did. I went to pull the dress out of the closet and it had yellow stains all over it. On the appliques, on the back. The dress was defective. Most likely a cheap fabric was used that discolored. I took great care of this dress. It was stored in a garment protective bag. It was in a clean and dry closet that is not subject to temperature fluctuations. The dress is ruined. My wedding is in June and I had to buy a new dress. I contacted the seller and they told me that the stains were probably my fault and that I probably didn't take care of it. I then contacted DHGate. This site is completely geared toward SELLER PROTECTION not BUYER PROTECTION like that would try to have you believe. They told me that they couldn't do anything. That my order was closed and that the money had been released to the seller. All that I could do was come to an agreement with the seller, (which obviously isn't going to happen). I sent them the screenshot of what the seller said to me. They said that because we hadn't reached an agreement, they couldn't open a case. What is the point of opening a case if you have an agreement with the seller?! You need a case when you can't reach an agreement. I told them that if I couldn't get my money back, could I at least alter my review. They told me no. They said that only the seller could allow me to alter my review. How is ANY of this protecting the buyer? So, now I'm out the money for 2 wedding dresses. The one that they sent me that is cheap and defective and the new one that I had to purchase from a real and reputable business to replace it. DO NOT order form here. No one will help you. You will lose your money, you will receive a crappy product, and you will be told that there is nothing you can do. This is a complete and total scam. Period. I would not order a dress from DHGate. Even if you do get the dress and it makes it through the wedding, it will probably yellow later and you won't be able to preserve or keep it. You won't have it for your children if that's something you're thinking of doing. Just don't do it.

I just ordered a Julie Vino dress from DHgate yesterday and I am terrified it's going to come and look nothing like it! My wedding is in November and I don't have a backup plan yet! I will keep everyone posted!!! Fingers crossed!

I'd be incredibly hesitant to buy any wedding dress online from anywhere! You can't really be sure what it's going to look like or how the quality will be unless you try it on in person! Also wedding dresses are frequently non-refundable, so I wouldn't want to be out that money on a dress!

I ordered a wedding dress and received a dollar store type pearl bracelet. I have contested the charge with my credit card company. It's NOT worth it. Buyer BEWARE!

I ordered this couture designer wedding gown, but got this cheap bracelet instead! Right after I ordered it, I requested to cancel the order. The seller messaged me asking why, so I explained. I did NOT receive an order confirmation, but a few weeks later, I got a shipping confirmation. I called the credit card company right away. I planned on refusing the order so it would get shipped back, but I got a delivery in a small bag, so I thought it was something small I ordered from Amazon. I asked everyone in the family if they ordered it and they said they had not. I then noticed it was from China and checked the tracking number from the shipping confirmation email, and it was the same number. They sent me this bracelet instead of the dress (which I had cancelled) I am contesting the charges. DO NOT TRUST THIS WEBSITE!!!

Furthermore, I cannot log on to DHGate's website. They claim my password is incorrect, which I am sure IS correct. I have requested several password resets with no response. My spam folder is empty, so it's not there either. What a scam. When something's sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Stay away! Seriously. I thought I'd take a shot - what's $150? If it worked out great, if not, too bad. I really wished that I had put the $150 towards getting my dream dress instead. The dress I received was laughably bad. The left and right side of the bust were different sizes by inches. My right breast was literally hanging out. The center seams were crooked, and nowhere near the center. When I tried to make a return or ask for a refund, DHgate made me jump through hoops for weeks, and while their platform gave me no problems when I was making a purchase, the links all stop working once you try to make a return. They time out, they give errors, the send to 404 page not found links. I seriously kept fighting for 4 weeks, and at the end, was told I took too long to make my dispute...even though it was their ridiculous system. You can open a dispute, then you have to wait a week for the seller. Then the seller offered a .01 refund. Then I had to dispute that and upload photo evidence, but their system wouldn't allow me to upload for "security" reasons. I finally got an email to send my photos to, and then the seller again refused a refund. Then I had to wait another week to be assigned. I probably should have just given up and eaten the $150, but at some point it because the principal of the thing. I for one don't like feeling like I am being scammed, but that's the truth with DHgate. I have no doubt that most of the positive reviews out there are from their own employees.

I just did some major alterations on a dress from DH Gate and it was beautifully made. The fabric was nice, I'd compare it with the quality of David's bridal. One word of warning - do not order your dress size and expect it to fit. These are bridal sizing, they are at least 2 sizes smaller than your regular dress size. The dress I altered was about 12 inches too small. The Bride was very lucky that we were able to find fabric that was a close match and I was able to make it fit. Take your measurements and order the size it suggests, even if it is a much larger size than you normally take. A dress can always be taken in, but it can usually only take it out an inch.
