Has anyone done their own hair for their wedding? Dyson Airwrap?

Kb, on September 27, 2021 at 2:33 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 4

Thinking about not hiring someone to do my hair and my bridesmaids hair but instead buying a Dyson airwrap to use. Thoughts?

If you decide not to hire someone, make sure you practice a bunch before the day of. Even when you think you have it down, practice more. It'll make the day a bit easier.

As far as airwrap goes, I have one (as do some of my friends) and some things we've learned as people who aren't professionals: It doesn't really curl on short hair (shoulder length or above) The standard curling barrels are not big enough to do long hair in one go (bottom of shoulder blades or lower), I've heard mixed reviews from people with textured hair. It does take some getting used to, but depending on what look you are going for, it can be beautiful! If you go this route specifically, you would really need to practice on not only yourself but other girl's hair too.

I just looked. Those things are $500+??? I’d recommend hiring a stylist. You’ll pay a lot less and can have them create the style you want while you relax on your wedding day.

Completely agree. Your money is much better spent on a professional hairstylist

I also own an airwrap. It's definitely a lot easier to style your hair with it than anything else I've ever used. It also doesn't burn your hair. But it's not a magic wand, you don't wave it and your hair looks perfect- you would still need to practice with it. I use my airwrap (the brush) every day, so it's been a good investment for me, but if you're only going to use yours once, I would hire a hair stylist.
