Has anyone else decided on doing their own bouquet?

Betsabe , on August 1, 2019 at 3:41 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 21
Hi ladies, I’m really trying to figure out if I should do my wedding bouquet alone with the bridesmaids (of course they will join me). Has anyone else try it or decided on? What is your thoughts please Smiley smile I’m thinking it saves money and makes them more special.

I didn’t, but I kind of wish I did. We did all our own centerpieces (using the same silk flowers as bouquets) and had a florist do bouquets and boutonnières. I think I could’ve achieved something very similar on my own for a little cheaper, especially with bouquets for the bridesmaids. Boutonnières, though, were definitely a good move to have done professionally.

My MOHs and I will be making our own bouquets and centerpieces, but I do have previous experience having worked in a flower shop. There are tons of tutorials you can watch online and you can use fake flowers so you can play with it as many times as you want or even just for a practice run if you want real flowers. I would just recommend being honest with yourself about what you can do, bouquets can be super elaborate and time consuming or super simple- it depends on what you like/want. Using real flowers can be a bit stressful since you can’t do them in very far in advance, but diy can save you tons.

I will be doing mine! Ordered all of our flowers off of fiftyflowers.com, and will be doing our bouquets two days before the wedding with my two sisters. My family has done this for three weddings in the past and it has always worked out beautifully! The first photo is my inspiration, the second is my sister’s bouquet that I made from a few years ago. If you feel pretty confident about it, I say do it! It is saving us a TON of money!

We did this! My husband wanted to make them so he went the day before and did up everything and had them sit at the venue in a chilly AC room overnight and it worked perfectly! Just make sure they stay in water and a cool place, and of course make them as close to wedding day as possible 😊 Super cheap too - $70 for all 3 bouquets in Southern California

I made my own on the morning of - the wedding was in Mexico since my husband’s family is from there and I’m british. We bought silk flowers a few months before that I used as a base with fresh flowers mixed in that we bought also the morning of.
The wedding was last Saturday (27th) so I don’t have any official pictures back yet. I’m actually sad I had to throw my bouquet and one of his aunts caught it and kept it. I used silk dahlias, with white and orange/coral roses and some babies breath for my bouquets and the bridesmaids

I’d like to note the whole lot cost me £50 or about $65 for my bouquet + 5 bridesmaids ones

I made mine ! Sort of aha. By made I really mean I got some small bouquets from Michael's and just combined three of em into one for me. And the small bouquets I left as is for the bridesmaids. They were really cheap. I spent $2 on each of the bridesmaids bouquets. So meant my bouquet was just $6. Since they're fake flowers I get to keep them

I made mine! Obviously I'm using artificial flowers. I've also done the boutonniere and all the centerpieces. All my flowers were purchased second hand at thrift stores or the like.

Oh man.. I think the boutonnières will be the easiest part lol but I don’t want to do the centerpieces since it will be on everyone’s face haha so if we screw it up it will be more obvious lol

We’re going to make our own. My FMIL is very crafty and she’s made bouquets for a couple of weddings before. I’m almost 100% decided on making a simple Cala Lily bouquet for each bridesmaid and then a bouquet of fake flowers for myself. My colors are plum and peach and I’m thinking about replacing the burgundy in the pictured bridal bouquet to plum.

A fried of mine DIY-ed bouquets for her wedding and they turned out great. We went to the farmer's market a couple days beforehand and picked out whatever we liked since they were supposed to look like bouquets of wildflowers. We spent the afternoon making floral arrangements and drank wine lol.

I just finished making mine last night. I couldn’t find anything I liked. The ones that were close to what I wanted were 200+. All in all I spent about 125
