Has anyone else developed insomnia during their wedding planning?

Kemmie, on August 30, 2014 at 4:36 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 22

I just started my wedding planning process and for the last week i haven't been able to go to sleep earlier than 4:30am. My mind just keeps racing thinking of ideas and worrying about how much is left to do. Do you have any ideas how to combat this? Is this normal? I'm considering getting a planner to relieve this stress and anxiety. I find myself fantasizing of a quiet court wedding more and more....

It will taper down. My stress is causing nausea. Sleeping hasn't been really affected --- except dreams. Its just the excitement. I am one week after you and I have been planning since March/April. Up until June I was a nervous/anxious wreck. Once your skin hardens to it, you will be fine!

Yes, I've experienced nausea and insomnia, but not until very recently. The closer it gets, the more stressful it gets. Hang in there.

There was about a week out of the year and a half we've been engaged that all I could think about was Wedding planning. How could I do this or how could I do that. I went mad that week... No sleep! I had enough and decided to write all of my ideas down in a note book and it helped tremendously!

Yes! When I stress, it's awful. I go days without sleeping more than 2 or 3 hours of broken sleep each night. I just can't turn my brain off and I clench my teeth and get really sore ears because of if.

I've just started go full steam into planning and I've had a couple of nights where my brain's just overloaded on planning and it won't stop and I don't sleep! I hope this subsides once most of the big details are done (although it's the little ones that keep the wheels turning, ha ha).

I have a chronic form of insomnia so this is my usual. I'll be interested to see how my sleep will be in the last few months before the wedding. Fingers crossed that it's manageable.

This thing happens because we are not able to stop thinking about a particular thing or an incident in your case you are worried and quite nervous about your big day, It is a just a common problem that happens with most of the we are excited or nervous depending on the situation what I would suggest is stop worrying about it relax as it a matter of just one day it will pass on and the more you keep thinking about it the lesser you would be able to sleep.

I had it when I first started planning then it went away. Now that I'm in the home stretch it's back. My mind gets racing work all the things I still need to do or figuring out how I want something, etc. Hang in there. If you can afford a coordinator I say go for it but if not you'll get thru either way

Yes! You hit the nail on the head! Not only am I having trouble falling asleep at night, I am waking up and having a hard time falling back asleep because I can't shut my brain off. It is 6 where I live and I have been up for an hour because I was having stupid dreams about no one showing up for my shower this coming Sunday Smiley sad

Yes. 8 months away, and I can't sleep. I feel nauseous all the time. I chose a destination wedding hoping it'd be less stressful. I can't imagine having a local wedding with the amount of anxiety I am feeling now.

Not developed but have always had it some...but more so recently. It has been great to use the time to look at potential bread baskets and to catch up on the good wife on hulu.com Smiley winking

Always had a bit, but it's gotten worse with planning. It's especially gotten worse this week, though, because FSIL is in early labor and this girl feels like a new father waiting for a call because she wants me in the room the entire time. :x Nausea and headaches are coming along with the no sleep as well. It's wonderful.
