Has anyone else worn flats or Kate Spade Glitter Keds for their wedding?

catobx, on November 2, 2017 at 11:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 64

Hey ladies,

So...I just can't walk in heels. It's an affliction I have dealt with for years, lol. I figure, on my wedding day, if I even attempt it I'll be face first in a glob of grass while walking down the aisle. Also, I'm not trying to nurse a bunch of rude blisters while dancing. So, one of my lovely MOH's came up with the idea for the Kate Spade Glitter Keds and I LOVE it. Since my dress is blush, I'd be wearing the Rose Gold color and bridesmaids will be wearing the platinum gold as gold is one of our accent colors. They'll be in navy blue. What do you guys think? Has anyone else gone this route? Is it totally inappropriate? I'm one of those girls who just never pays much attention to feet, so maybe I'm an outlier. I'll post a pic of my gown and then the pic of the shoes we intend to go with. Yay or nay?

I wore them for the reception! My husband is 15 inches taller than me, so I wanted at least a small heel for the ceremony and the first dance.

I was super excited to put on my shoes Smiley smile

I'm wearing flats on my big day! Would rather be comfortable than miserable!

Thanks ladies! Awesome! @Anne - were they comfy? I'm worried they may be stiff with the glitter...but I am sure more comfy than any heel. I also have a wider foot. I just cannot with heels. Props to all of you ladies who can do the whole 5 inch thing. Tell me your secrets.

I didn't wear the Keds, but I had other glitter sneakers for the reception. I also do t do heals but I found a very low wedge sandal to wear for the ceremony. But I love the blush / rose gold combo. Go for it!

You should definitely get them! They are super pretty! I'm considering these Bob ones since I already own a pair in black and they are super comfy! I love the color combo of yours!

@OP definitely comfy! I actually forgot to bring socks to the venue and wore them barefoot for about 5 hours. Just one small blister (but that was my fault lol).

I'm all for it! I'm doing the same thing but found that Keds run super narrow so I opted for a rose gold knockoff that charming Charlie sells.

Super cute!! I never noticed what shoes people are wearing. I say comfort is way more important. Go for it!

I'm also a Hayley Paige bride (!!!) and I'll be wearing the white glitter Keds for my reception and the Kate Spade Sala in ivory for the ceremony and photos-- I find I stand with better posture with a small heel. I think especially with the whimsical horeshair tulle skirts we have, the glitter shoes will be a playful touch!

I'm definitely wearing flats (FH is like half an inch taller than me and normally is totally into me wearing heels but for our wedding pictures he feels more comfortable with me not being taller than him), but I'm thinking about glitter sneakers for the reception anyway.

I have to either wear flats or wedges due to the venue, I can't wait to shop for them! I also cannot wear heels I walk like a baby giraffe no matter what style or heel size. Go with what you are comfortable with.

    Edit: Spelling.

My friend wore them! They looked super cute!

I'm definitely wearing flats for mine. Heels and I are not friends.

If wearing Keds with a wedding dress is wrong, I don't want to be right! I'm a spaz in heels too, and the last thing I want is to be uncomfortable walking and dancing for hours.

These are the Keds I bought:

I suffer from the same affliction. I *can* walk in heels but my feet just can't handle it anymore and why would I want to be in pain on my wedding day? Also, FH and I are the same height so it is the perfect excuse not to wear heels. We'll be eye to eye this way. Smiley smile
