Has anyone heard of or tried Keepcake?

It is supposed to be great for preserving the top layer of the wedding cake for your one year anniversary. Preserves the freshness and beauty without freeze burn. But I can't find reviews on this product anywhere!!
Can it really work like it says? If so that would be a dream come try!

Just wrap in 2 layers of plastic wrap and then 2 layers of foil, then put in a Tupperware. I do freezer meals all the time and this keeps them for at least 6 months: you may have to go check on it for some ice occasionally but you can save the $$$. If you have a vacuum sealer or a friend with one, even better.

We just had our cake tastings & I asked about this. She said to do plastic wrap, foil, plastic wrap, foil, plastic wrap- so you have 5 layers. We have a food saver so we’ll probably go that route.

I was hoping to find a way to save the cake and the beauty of it. I am afraid if I use foil and plastic wrap it will look smashed later when I pull it out for our anniversary.

The traditional way is layers of foil and plastic wrap inside of tupperware. People still sick and/or grossed out by it. Most couples in this generation do not dave the cake a year. They either serve it at the wedding or eat it themselves at the wedding night hotel. Don't waste expensive cake by making it inedible.

Honestly, cake is just one of those things that I don't think really freezes well, no matter how many layers you have. It still won't taste as good as fresh. Our bakery will recreate the top tier for $24, and you could do it for multiple anniversaries I think to. We just went with that.

Frozen cake even after a day doesn't taste as good as freshly baked left on the counter. The taste and texture get altered dramatically and the ingredients are not intended to be frozen at any point in time. Many baking blogs even mention that.

Our baker offered a separate tier that they packaged especially for the freezer. We simply added a few layers of plastic wrap to it, and popped it in.

Tasted fantastic, even a year later.

I LOVE my keepcake. Not only did it preserve the beautiful decoration of my cake it tasted EXACTLY like the day of my wedding. I was not expecting the keepcake to work that well but holy cow I was blown away. 100% worth every penny! I give it to all my friends getting married!

This is what my cake looked like after being in my freezer for a year! It looks exactly the same as my wedding day
