Has anyone looked into a small wedding or elopement style package at a Bed and Breakfast?

Liesel, on June 24, 2020 at 9:26 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11

I found this lovely Bed and Breakfast Inn about an hour and a half away from our home in Maryland. It would be around $2040 for 20 guests including ourselves and this includes the ceremony, officiant, bouquet, boutonniere, wedding cake, appetizer style foods, and a sparkling cider toast.

This is something im highly considering since we want something small and would like to spend no more than $4000 for the wedding including photography. It would also give family the option of staying the night before the wedding!

What are your thoughts/experiences?

I have a work friend that did this and they loved it! They made a whole weekend of it at the B&B.

That's awesome! Yeah I feel like we don't have to worry about as much with this option and that is another reason why it appeals to me.

Hello. I am having an intimate ceremony with two friends at a Bed & Breakfast because on Sundays they have an elopement special. Even if I wanted a few more guests I could. Best discovery throughout this whole process. I have a beautiful room to get ready, it is beautiful and it is near the water and in a part of Tampa Bay where you can see the sun set so I get my Golden Hour pics. I am excited to have come across it and I even asked them in case things go crazy in November am I still good to go lol. Ask their food options because our plan is to go to a rough top lounge afterwards but I am allowed to at least cut my cake there. So far the experience has been great and I agree on the budget. There is a hotel near by that does an elopement special but for 2 hrs $1800 or I have seen private Gazebos for $700. I get this whole place, no guests will be there that day, and there is a beautiful patio with string lights and indoors in case it rains. Best idea ever because I wanted to spend the most on photography and I was able to get the photographers I wanted. Go for it! Smiley smile This is where I found out about it and here is some inspiration https://marrymetampabay.com/romantic-blush-navy-and-gold-sarasota-destination-wedding-palmetto-riverside/

This is a great idea and definitely a cost saver. I’ve already looked into micro wedding packages myself in case I cant go through with my postponed wedding.

I can completely relate with this!! Thank you for posting. Right now I am even considering just doing the ceremony there with around 16 family members and it would be a lot cheaper. We would still stay the two nights as well. And then I was thinking of decorating our backyard for a post-wedding family reception type thing the next evening. I have been saying for the longest time that I want a potluck style reception so Im thinking of having everyone work together to bring a dish to share at our house. The photography means the most to me as well!! This bed and breakfast is nestled in such a beautiful area and very close to the Bay. I think it would be great if we just had a simple and sweet ceremony, pictures afterwards, and a family get together the day after.

Small amount of guests is nice too and that way immediate family will feel special. The only thing about pot luck are people's worries about COVID might come up but still not a bad idea. I think a post ceremony reception is nice and many people do small ceremonies and larger post wedding parties afterwards. I think your plan is lovely and you should go for it however you two want to. Yes that would be the only worry but I am hoping by around May time next year that things will be back to normal (socially that is.) Our only issue is that we have a very narrow road so parking will be a challenge. I was thinking of contacting a business within walking distance of us that has an overflow lot and seeing if they would be willing to let us use/rent the space for the night just so people can park and then walk over. Its kind of annoying but as long as the weather is okay it shouldn't be an issue for people- especially if its mostly family Smiley smile
