Has Anyone Made a Tissue Pom Pom / Paper Lantern Backdrop?? (Pic)

GoneAndMarried, on December 1, 2014 at 2:35 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

I am in love with the look of this backdrop and want to incorporate it somehow for my ceremony. I am curious if anyone had made one? If so, how did you do it? How labor intensive was it? Expensive? How did you keep it upright? Where did you use it? Id like to incorporate this somehow for my ceremony

Thanks!!

Are you using this for your ceremony?

I am not doing this, but it looks like if you can make paper pom poms and flowers you could just attach them to a large piece of foam board or styrofoam, then hang it from the ceiling or attach a PVC frame to the back. No idea where you would buy a large size of foam though. Also FYI glue guns melt styrofoam, but only a little bit.

I'd like to use it as a ceremony backdrop somehow bc the gazebo I'm getting married at is boring and plain. I just don't know how to execute it

Depending on what sort of board you get to attach it, you can drill hopes and put strings through to hang it.

I'm making an origami crane backdrop. I'm making the cranes, then using fishing line to string them up. I'll be attaching weights at the end of the string to make it straight, then using little jewelry clamps to keep the cranes in the right spots (keeping them from sliding down the string). I'm using a piece of wood along the top with holes drilled in to hang the crane strings. I'm attaching hooks to the wood and hanging it from the ceiling. Something like this could be an option for you as well, you could string up the pom poms and flowers instead of gluing them to a board.
