Has anyone ordered BM dresses from Macys/Nordstrom/J Crew?

My 3 sisters are my BMs, and 2 are pregnant due in October and December. They say you need to order BM dresses from bridal stores well in advance, and we won't be able to do that since they will be totally prego at the time they would get fitted. We are thinking we will get their dresses from somewhere like Macy's or Nordstrom. That way, they can order the dresses much closer to the wedding at a time when their bodies are more "normal." Has anyone else done that? Do you think the quality and craftsmanship and color are good?

The quality of those 3 stores are great. I'd be more worried if they will have the same dress in stock now vs closer to your date?

My sister used Nordstrom's when she was in her friend's wedding. They loved it, and my sister was able to get a dress she loved and has actually work it again!

I agree with OTW. Make sure they order them around the same time so that one doesn't order now and it goes out of stock before the others get a chance to order.

I do love the J. Crew dresses!

We ordered Amsale dresses from Nordstrom for my bro's wedding. They were fine and came in about four weeks I'd guess. But I agree, they may be cheaper from other places.

I can say that Nordstrom's return policy is amazing... I'm actually not sure if they even have one, but you can return your item at any time. I don't live in a state with a Nordstrom, but the bride chose a bridesmaid dress from there. I also had a baby last year prior to her wedding... I purchased the same dress in two different sizes online, and as the date got closer, I kept the one that fit better and returned the other one via mail.

They made it very easy! They even included a prepaid return label with the order and arranged for a pickup where I just left the dress on my porch.

I know that this thread now needs to dumped down but after going through I realize that it has all and it really stuck to my head. So I decided to add in my opinion about the same. Neither from any of this Nordstrom/Macys/J Crew store, I do buy BM dresses as they are not available nearby my home. Normally, I use to buy BM dresses from Nordstrom when I was having my stay in US at my granny house for Masters's studies. I use to buy not only BM dresses but also other products and items from its departmental store. I know there was no limit for refund or exchange but if you bought in for special occasion then Nordstrom Store allows you to return an item without tags.
