Don’t feel bad girl, I’m right there with ya! Last time we actually sat down and calculated, we were $32k over the initial budget. It’s far gone, we don’t even have a set budget anymore 🤦🏼‍♀️

Not...at....all. We were like 7k over our original. Younger me would never had thought we would have spent so much money on our wedding.

Lol nope. And due to covid, a lot of our expenses were cut in half (half the guests).. we are still like 7K over and this app loves to remind me 😂.
    Hopefully all worth it

From the get go I knew my wedding would cost a minimum of $40,000 (very formal wedding and I have high standards when it comes to hospitality expectations) and we are now sitting on about $52,000 but that doesn’t include a few things, eekh!

For my first wedding, yes. My budget was about $3,000 and we stuck to that. For this wedding I hope so. I don’t know where I’m gonna get the money if we go over 😂

Nope. Original budget was about $5K for the wedding itself not including rings, attire or the little extra things (now looking back, I made my budget kind of weird lol) but, now that I’ve added everything in, we’re looking at about 10-12K for everything. So we’re over budget, I didn’t want to spend over at max 10K. But, I know it’ll be worth it and I won’t regret it in the end when the day turns out to be everything I wanted 😊

We solved this problem by having a 'ballpark' number, and not trying to stick to it exactly.

In the end, we barely went over, but that was also because we were pretty aggressive about picking lower cost options when possible, or flat out skipping things we didn't think were important.

Nope, we were told it would be about 10k for 25 guests, very formal and elegant plated wine paired dinner at our venue. We now are at 24k with everything included. Yikes! It will be worth it though!

We are about 7k over ours. I could never understand how weddings were so expensive until I started planning mine and realizing in my state there was no way to be less then 20k unless I cut down almost everything. Now that it’s getting closer we are cutting out a lot of the little things like favors and another dessert option and things that no one would miss.

Nope! I went over on certain things but came under in others. I still am a little over.

Not even a little bit. We are about 5K over ours right now. But that was after totally revamping the idea we had for our wedding day!

It doesn't make things easier when you have a bigger budget. Turns out my FH has internalized NYC expectations and I have to constantly reign him in. Yesterday, we got a quote from a nice band for $18k. Yeah, no, not for 5 hours + building a stage. Budgets are tricky when one person has a vision, the other can get resentful.

These online budget tools are key for me.

FH and I were bad and didn't exactly set a budget, but used WW's cost guide as a basis for what various aspects cost locally and nationally. We've stuck to those average costs pretty well - I think the only category we're over budget is catering but we're under in a few others. Still going to be over our general target ($22,000ish), but only by a couple grand!
