Has anyone used Generation Tux or another online rental place?

Hope, on July 13, 2018 at 3:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
I’m thinking of doing the online suit rental instead if Joseph A Banks like we originally planned. Has anyone had a good/bad experience with Generation Tux or the Black Tux? Show me pics! I like that Generation tux lets you try on the exact suit you want. Where black tux only has limited options. I’m also not sure if black tux lets the groom get his for free. Are there any hidden fees I should know about? I know tax obviously but are they going to charge a shipping fee, damage fee, etc

We used the black tux and really liked the experience. There are no hidden fees. I think we paid $195 for a complete tux which included the pants, shirt, jacket, shoes, socks (you keep these), bow tie, cuff links and button covers. DH had a free home try on of the tux he wanted. They have a step by step video and instructions for taking and uploading measurements. We ended up having to exchange the jacket and pants and that was very easy. We just contacted the customer service via email, uploaded pics of him wearing the tux and described the fit. Within 2 days we received the exchange and we didn't have to send back the wrong sizes until we sent everything back. You have 2 days after the wedding to pack everything in the box it came in, affix the prepaid shipping label and drop off at FedEx.

My husband and I looked into Black Tux and loved the suit he tried at home, as well as the customer service. However when it was time to set up our wedding party, the suit we wanted was sold out, so we used Manguin. It was horrible. He did try the suit on prior and it was fine, but when it came to our guys and receiving the suits, everything was wrong, half of them got the wrong sizes, not that it wasn’t the right fit, they sent the wrong sizes. And none of them got bow ties. They arrived Friday before our Thursday wedding and I spent the entire weekend trying to get it sorted out. By Tuesday evening, Manguin still couldn’t guarantee delivery of the bow ties. My husband was in another wedding that used black tux, none of the groomsmen had any issues.

We used the black tux and had so many problems. It didn't arrive 14 days in advance like it was supposed to and he was going away for business 10 days before the wedding. We had to pick it up from the post office so he could get it a day earlier than he left for his trip. My husband didn't get the free black socks he was promised. Still not sure he was reimbursed for getting the jacket and pants hemmed like he was supposed to. Everything up to that was good including customer service.

We are using Menguin. He got to try on his for free and I like that we could see who had done what for renting theirs. We are 19 days out and today I got the email that their tuxs had shipped (may be a delay due to inclement weather). I'm only nervous about our son's (he's 5) because he is skinny and gauging kids clothes can be rough.

If anyone is wedding planning and even thinking of using Generation Tux, please message me tell you about our nightmare and do NOT do so. Just in the past week’s experience: We have called in a collective of 13 times and still do not have a suit for the groom, 2 dads, or my brother. After they sent the wrong sizes to all 4, we were told Friday, Monday AND Tuesday they shipped. Yesterday, they finally admitted “it appears that’s not accurate” and as of today, not one has shipped still. Probably the most comical example of their incompetence is they used their “formula” and apparently decided the tallest man needing a size 48 suit coat, would be fine in the tiniest coat anyone else received- a 40. Just sending them a tag on here since now they admitted they lied, they keep “accidentally” hanging up on us! A rather LOL Update: 10 mins after we blow up their social media presence, we magically get an email we’ve been waiting for for 6 days: “it (really actually) shipped”…. Yet, still will not provide a tracking number.

DO NOT USE THEY WILL KEEP CHARGING YOU. $500 SO FAR. The box they gave me was too big for the UPS dropbox, so I could not mail it back in time. The UPS Store said the label was no good, so I could not mail it back. EVERY DAY THEY CHARGE MORE MONEY - WHAT KIND OF TAILOR IS THIS?? THEIR PROCESS SUCKS TAKE A LOOK AT THE CHARGES IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY WILL BE TREATED
