Has anyone used mismatched china for their wedding?

Jessica, on October 10, 2016 at 10:57 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

I have been saving mismatched china since I was engaged because I have always loved it. Has anyone done this? I am wondering how the buffet will work. I guess they just take their plates with them? Should I have the DJ make an announcement to use the plates or just have a sign somewhere? Our venue has already agreed to wash and pack them up for me after dinner.

Also, its only for 50-60 guests. So I know the amount of work and undertaking this will take but I still want to use them Smiley smile

You will need at least double and possibly triple entree plates because folks will get more than one plate, and dessert plates. Personally I would put the entree plates on the buffet in a few stacks. This sounds cute!

I'm using mismatched, but my venue provides it for me. I'm not providing it myself.

Personally, I don't like the look. It reminds me of dinner at grandma's, and I think that trend is over. It's, of course, your choice, but the effort involved in buying/transporting/cleaning is way more than you think.

I have side business selling antiques and one of our clients is a business that rents mismatched and uniquely curated place settings. Go for it! I think the trend is just starting and if you do it right you can make it look really cute! My rental company even had the option of doing mismatched China!
