Has anyone used smoke bombs in their wedding photos?

I've been wanting to do something fun and different for our wedding pics in September. I seen pictures on Pinterest of couples using smoke bombs and the pics came out so beautiful. Has anyone used smoke bombs in their wedding photos??

My friend did these last month for her wedding. They were cool, but after about 10 seconds everyone had to run away because they set off too many of them and no one could breathe. So just be cautious not to use more than one or two at once. Haven’t seen her pics yet to see if they were worth it.

And even outside, make sure you are far from any open windows or fan or AC intakes, so smoke does not go in the venue and set off either the smoke alarms or sprinklers. Your gown likely will smell of them all eve ing.

Sprinklers did go off at my cousin's wedding, just in the small cocktail table area right inside the slider windows to the outdoor deck where groom's best man got a little too liberal with the smoke. Only about 10 minutes in to the photo time during cocktail hour, that was the e D of bride and groom pictures in the patio garden encircled with azaleas. About 30 guest pour out through the sliders to get away from sprinklers. And they had never cleared it with the venue to call fire dept just before letting them off, so FD came on wired in alarm $500 fee. Police dept came too, but did not charge. Damp guests not happy. So if the smoke effect is wanted, make sure none can drift in and tell the venue or wherever you are doing pictures. Guests do not like being damp for hours, it turned out.

We aren’t using smoke bombs....but we booked ice cream that will be frozen on site using liquid nitrogen. I guess the ice cream people told our photographers they will use it to create fun effects like this. (I hope!!)

Dry ice is so effective without as much planning, or as many pitfalls, as smoke bombs or fog and mist machines.

Smoke bombs can stain fabric - I’d want to do some testing to make sure the ones you use won’t ruin your dress!
