Hashtag Ideas

Melody, on January 5, 2017 at 12:34 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19

I know people on here tend to hate this question, and yes I tried the hashtag generator, but I can't find or come up with anything creative for the name Ellison.

I had the same issue! My last name is Moran and his is Pasquali, and since I'm not taking his name when we are married, I struggled! And those wedding generators can be a little generic after a while.

Is there something fun or unique about your engagement or wedding venue/theme? The Fiance proposed using a chipwich ice cream sandwich, so our hashtag is going to be #ChipHitched2017.

@Elizabeth, that's so cute. I really don't have much unique in that regard though, the only thing I've got is that it's going to be in the Fall.

Happilyeverellison is the only thing coming to mind, but I know that's pretty generic. What are the other names involved? Any nicknames?

@Lacy, the names are Melody and Erik. There really aren't any nicknames.

A hashtag is not that important. You don't need one. Your wedding will still happen without it.

#ellisoneverafter #foreverandellison sidebar: are wedding hashtags crucial, important or make-it-break-it? No. but they can be fun. Is there a hashtag generator? Yep, but it's a robot and some of you are widely clever and creative humans (NOT me), and I honestly don't understand why posts like this get negative responses. Some people are just excited and wanna be unique... not committing a mortal bridal faux pas. I love this site, it's been a go-to resource, just my opinion. Happy planning to all & congrats!

If I were using a hash tag and couldn't come up with anything cute and creative on my own, I would ask my friends and family for suggestions since they actually know me. Just saying.

I don't have any suggestions for the hashtag that haven't been said already, but I would suggest searching for the hashtag on social media before deciding on it!

I don't really understand why these posts get negative responses sometimes either, I'm using one, and it's not to be creative or unique, it's to make sure that I am able to capture as many pictures of my special day as possible! After all, I'm not friends on social media with ALL of FH friends/family, and he doesn't have social media, so the hashtag makes it SO easy for me to find the pictures they take!

Maura- telling others how to post or to "keep scrolling" is against the CGs. It doesn't matter if it isn't our wedding because she asked for the communities opinions which gets the community involved. No one said she can't have a hashtag.

She asked for hashtag ideas. She wasn't debating on having or asking our overall advice about hashtags...... so...... yeah.

I think the hashtag is a great idea. I've been able to see many photos from wedding guests who attended weddings. I don't see the issue.

I have an even stupidier (more stupid) question (which I thought your question was fine). If I create a hashtag.....how do I create it, what do I do with it and how do I get back to it to see things others posted to it?

Can you tell I am not a millennial bride??? Smiley smile

@erica People can use the hashtag for Instagram, Facebook, and twitter. They type in the hashtag with their photo and when the hashtag is clicked on all of the photos with it come up. I guess I'm a way it groups photos together. Hope that helps Smiley smile
