Hate the word hubby?

Silly thread but does anyone else hate the word hubby? My mom always refers to my FH as hubby to be and it makes me physically recoil lol. I can't be the only one. Also not a huge fan of wifey. Does anyone have wedding words that they inexplicably can't stand?

I hate them too. I feel like "hubby" and "wifey" are more nicknames for serious relationships and not people who are married. I refuse to use either. Bae. No just so much no.

Joe used to say he was my "chubby hubby." Not anymore. I hear I have an expressive face.

I used to work with a guy who always referred to "my wife" even though we all knew her personally. I finally asked, "Is that your wife Bernadette or do you have a wife we don't know?"

O&S yesss!! If you're bragging about your perfect relationship, you're full of shit. FH irritates me, I irritate him. We have quirks, but we work through any issues. There's no relationship that's absolutely perfect...

Agreed about hubby and wifey. Also, I don't know why but I find it really odd whenever an older guy who has been married for a long time refers to his wife as his "bride."

This is actually an issue for us! NOT fond of "hubby" (and Judy Blume trashed "wifey" for me before I even really hit adolescence) and my current nickname for FH is "Biff" -- as in bf and also because he looks like a square jawed blonde Biff-type.

But because it really is short for boyfriend I have no idea of what to transition to after the wedding.

"Hey you" seems to be winning.

Brekky is slang in Australia for breakfast... a friend of mine is from Australia and says brekky. Lol

I actually used to despise the words hubby/wifey but they have kind of grown on me. Without realizing it, I will think of FH as my soon-to-be hubby. I'm not much on terms of endearment, though. The only one I tend to use is when I call him, 'love.' He uses the term 'bae' because he knows the word irritates me so he likes to tease me.

@Jennifer I hate when people use the term prego as well. Like, you're not a fucking pasta sauce. Also, preggerz literally causes an eye twitch.

Ew. Those are a hard pass. We don't really do pet names to begin with.

It's even more of a person peeve when I hear someone refer to their SO whom they aren't married to as "hubby." No, that's not another word for boyfriend or fiance.

Don't like hubby or wifey or any of those. They're infantile. But I am also not a fan of pet names, period. I have a perfectly good name.

I hate the word hubby. Mainly because, what is so hard about going the extra 2 letter distance? And I agree with O&S .. the overwhelming displays of love and affection on social media .. like can you the fuck not?

YES! So much hate for hubby, wifey, babe, baby. Ugh, we knew a couple where the girl would whine at her bf in front of a big crowd, "BAY-beeeeeeee". Barf.
