Hate the word hubby?

Silly thread but does anyone else hate the word hubby? My mom always refers to my FH as hubby to be and it makes me physically recoil lol. I can't be the only one. Also not a huge fan of wifey. Does anyone have wedding words that they inexplicably can't stand?

@Sara&L yes! I don't mind terms of endearment mostly. FH and I call each other babes, sweetie, honey, hon. Mostly because I'm from the south and call everyone honey. (Actually a joke between us because when we first started dating he didn't know I called everyone honey he thought it was just him. He's a sweetie.) But I cannot stand lover. It's so awkward.

I absolutely cannot stand the word wifey. And I hate when it's on t-shirts or mugs or anything else, really. I don't even know why it bothers me so much.. it just does.

I also cannot stand baby. That makes my skin crawl.

Bridesmaids referring to themselves as "squad". Whenever I see bridal parties wearing articles of clothing labeled with "squad" at bachelorette parties, I feel embarrassed for them.

Yes. And bae and boo, and all those other annoying pet names.

I have to say, I hate the term "fiancé" as well! I can't say it without feeling bougie.

Agreed. Hubby and wifey are both awful.

@enchanted THANK YOU for bringing up the appropriation of bae. I can't believe white people have coopted a AAVE term and bastardized it so much that no one even knows what it means anymore!! That NEVER happens.

@Sara&L I swear to god, whenever someone refers to someone as "lover" i think of "I'm dawn denbo and this is my lover cindy" from the L word and I can't take them seriously.

I don't love 'hubby' or 'wifey' and have never used them, but honestly I prefer both of those to 'fiance'. The term just always felt obnoxious to me and we tried to avoid using it at all times!

That being said - our pet names for each other are boyfriend and girlfriend, and it's how we address each other (as in "Hey boyfriend - did you unload the dishwasher?"). So I'm sure that's really annoying (and weird) to other people as well Smiley smile Whatever, we dated for 8 years before getting married so it's kind of ingrained!

My mil calls her husband hubby. I don't care for it, but wifey is cute to me.

"Hubby" makes me (and my "hubby") vomity. For some reason wifey, babe, baby, etc don't bother me.

Literally cannot stand "hubby". "Wifey" doesn't seem to bother me as much though. Lol

We started calling each other babe ironically and it backfired and stuck. We don't say it in front of other people though (unless I am drunk)

I recently started calling her "my ex girlfriend" and she did not think it was as hilarious as I though it was

Idk, I like them. They don't bother me. In fact, I wanted to get shirts for our mini moon but FH said no hahaha

My MOH and I call each other Wifey. We've been doing it since we were roommates in college.

I hadn't given much thought to the word "hubby."

Don't mind hubby but can't get past bae or wifey.
