Hate the word hubby?

Silly thread but does anyone else hate the word hubby? My mom always refers to my FH as hubby to be and it makes me physically recoil lol. I can't be the only one. Also not a huge fan of wifey. Does anyone have wedding words that they inexplicably can't stand?

I hate hubby and wifey (I also worked in a school system for a bit and HATED the word "kiddo"). They just seem so stupid. I call him his pet name, name, or husband.

You are definitely not alone. What is even weirder/bothers me more is that most people who use the terms "hubby" and "wifey" aren't even married...uhhh?

Hubby is a no. Bae is a hell no. Wifey is for some strange reason not as annoying to me. But BAE is probably the worst in my opinion. I prefer dear. Or babe. I'm sure babe is annoying to a lot of people lol

I am about to embarass my FH but when we started dating, we used bae all the time even though we were both like "why are we doing this?". Now it has transformed into bae face, biffie, biffa, biff, etc. At least it has now taken on a uniqueness and nobody knows what we are talking about. I caught myself calling him "sweetie" at venue tours. No. Also no hubby or wifey.

I'n not a fan of either, but I dislike wifey, bae & boo more than hubby. My DH has been calling me his wife throughout our engagement and I like the way that sounds much better than wifey. I call DH my husband or other little nicknames that have for each other, nothing to do with wedding or marriage though.

    No.

I don't like the word fiancé or when people use DH for "dear husband".

"BAE" shouldn't even be acknowledged, in my opinion. We should just let that die.

Yeah I really hate fiance and I wish there was another name for it. I still call FH my boyfriend from time to time

It doesn't feel right using the word fiance and I still call him my boyfriend a lot but when people call me out on it I use my made up term, my boo-ancée, which sounds even more obnoxious but makes us laugh. If I can't get used to fiance, I doubt I'll ever use hubby.

But it doesn't bother me when others use it. But I have to agree with bae. I just don't get it.

The prego and preggerz bother me. The wedding ones, eh. Don't bother me so much but I'm not marrying a man so no hubby here.

I like them both only because I can't imagine calling him husband or him calling me wife and it's something cuter and more official then babe

Hubby doesn't bother me but wifey I'm not a fan of. Bae is a definite no for me.

    Cannot stand it.

    Or Wifey.

Or trying to make "bubbly and hubby" rhyme. The end.

I had a work friend and no one knew her husband's name because she only ever called him "baby" or "hubby"

    NO ONE!

And some people worked with her for years.

Oh my gosh yes! We’re newlyweds and I’m constantly getting “How’s your hubby?” and I want to barf. Hard pass. Instant recoil. He’s my HUSBAND. HUS👏🏻BAND👏🏻. Part of it is the devolving into baby-talk once you’re in a committed relationship. What’s up with that? Gagging just thinking of all the “preggers,” etc. to come once we go down that road.
