Have done things a little backwards....

lilstnkrz, on August 1, 2009 at 1:55 PM Posted in Married Life 0 23

C'mon everyone, I know I'm not the only one out there who has gone: kids then house then wedding! My FH and I have been together for 10 years and we have 2 great kids together. My son is 7 and he's standing up for his Dad as a junior groomsman and my 2 year old daughter is our flower girl. How is everyone else involving their kids??

You are not the only one. We have been together for 9 years and have 2 boys together and 2 boys seperately. My oldest is 10 and he is the junior groomsman. The mother of his oldest who is also 10 is having issues with our wedding so unfortunately he is not in it. Our 3 year old is escorting my flower girl down with my god son and our 1 year old is the ring bearer. He will be coming down in a wagon

Here's how it goes for me, 1st kid, then house, then our 2nd kid, and finally marriage! You definitely are not the only one, i think times have really changed, its nice to know what you really are getting into! My FH and I have been together nine years, we have a four year old daughter and two year old son, we are having the priest call them up at the end of the mass and he will be blessing us and uniting us as a family.

This isn't they way we're doing it (at our ages that would be quite the accomplishment) but I know several people who have done this. And they thought no one would want to celebrate their marriage when the opposite was true - we all wanted to celebrate the great relationship they had!

This is a second marriage for us both. My daughter, who will be almost 12 at the time of the wedding is a bridesmaid. His son, who will also be 12 at the time, is going to be the best man. My son, who lives with his father is going to play the piano. He's so excited! He will play for a half hour before the ceremony and then he'll play the song as I walk down the isle.

Heck, I think I did this backwards AND upside down. We have known each other 9 years, both been married 2 times before, have a 4 1/2 year old together..and both own a house. Mine is going to be a rental income and we will live in his. Everyone in my family has passed on (mon, dad, sister, grandparents) so my son (who will be 5 at the time) will walk me down the aisle.

I LOVE that your 5 year old is walking you down the aisle.....I'm tearing up just thinking about how special that moment will be. He'll carry that honour with him forever I bet...and so will you!

I have a daughter that is not my fh and she is going to be the flower girl, we have been together for a year next month and the wedding is set for July 30th of 2011. It took me a long time to find the right guy and in that search i ended up pregnant but i also got my daughter out of that and it truly has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am so happy to have found the right guy this time.

Lol... apparently we are not as uncommon as we thought! My husband and I have 3 kids, (we are now on our 2nd) house, and 9 1/2 years later...got married on 7/20... (kids ages 8, 6, 2)

We eloped, so it was just us and the kids... My oldest son "walked" me down the "isle", my other son was the ring bearer and my daughter was flower girl...

I have a son from a previous relationship, he is so exited about his role in the wedding. My father will walk me halfway down the isle and my son (who will be 7 then) will walk me the rest of the way. We are going to do a special section in the ceremony at that time as a symbol of the three of us joining together as a family. We wanted to make sure he knew he was a part of us and not being left behind.

Haha ok me and FH have been together less than a year, but always knew of eachother (mutal friends same scene) Anyway when we started hanging out, I was just out of an egagement I just called off 3 weeks before the wedding, me and my ex were together 5 years and have a 2 year old. I was also pregnant with a guy I was casually seeing and didn't know until after me and FH started dating, due to my iud in wrong. anyway he took on the role of the father since the other guy ditched out, and signed all papers and now has his last name, and married me with all this baggage.. he just figures its treasure he said Smiley smile He went from someone who was in a band and has no responsibilities to domest

My 2 year old was the flower girl and when he saw her he started to cry and when he saw me he cried harder. Nothing like his 2 favorite girls walking down. My daughter was adorable and stole the show (as she does) spinning all over the stage and yelling out "look a fishy" in the middle of it! I wouldnt have had it any other way!

In our wedding, our children are the entire wedding party. My 19 yr old only child/daughter is my maid of honor, my FH's 20 yr old daughter is my bridesmaid and my FH's 14 yr old son is his best man. We are so excited to have them share this special day with us in such an intimate way.

So 4get those that consider this backwards... Smiley smile

My FH and I been together for over 4 yrs. We own a house. I have 2 kids from previous relationships-boy 10 and girl 6- at the time of the wedding. We also have a son together who will be 3. My oldest is one of the groomsmen and is going to walk my 2 bridesmaids down the aisle. (I have 3 attendants and he only has 2). My daughter is the flower girl dressed as a mini bride with a full dress with a train and minature version of my tiara. My youngest is going to be the ringbearer.
