Have you ever taken norethisterone or norethindrone to delay your period?

If so, did it work, and did you experience any side effects?

I'm due to be in the throes of my period on my wedding day. Though I'm sure every woman's period is an ordeal, mine is an ORDEAL. I'd hate to make a mess of my dress (sorry for the imagery).

Is this a specific RX? or something OTC?

I'm pretty sure if you talk to your gyno, they can get you something that will work the best for you.

Yes, just skip the inactive pills in your old pack & start the next one. Side effects- not really they have extended cycle bc out there ie seasonelle & seasonique where you only have 1 period every 3 months

I skip a period every once in a while on my BC pills whenever I feel like it. Gyno said it was ok, just like Seasonique and stuff! I just skip the placebos!

I attempted this once by skipping the inactive pills- I ended up bleeding for 2 weeks instead of skipping it. Obviously this isn't a normal reaction, but it happened

I'm actually a pharmacist and there has been a couple occasions where I have skipped the "placebo" week of my birth control so that I don't get my period if I have an event coming up. It's perfectly fine to do that!! It's just like taking those birth controls that you only get your period every 3 months. Typical side effects are the same with any birth control you would take!

I have used unflavored gelatin before and it works for a few hours. Dilute a one pack into little water and take it as a shot. Smiley winking

I have done this a handful of times like when we went to hawaii last summer. There hasn't ever been any side effects and it has always worked like it should. No problems, you could maybe try it out b4 your wedding day to see how it goes. You should be fine

If I don't mess with my birth control, I will be getting my period exactly ON our wedding day. And then I will have it all through our honeymoon.

I'm just starting my latest pack two weeks later than I normally would, but I'm doing it NOW so that my body has time to get used to it and I don't wind up with spotting.

I'm not on any birth control or anything. I've decided to just accept the fact that I'll be on my period on my wedding day and deal with it. Thanks for the feedback.

You never know, stress and excitement might delay it naturally. That's what I'm hoping for. Mine is a mess too. Smiley sad
