Have you or anyone you know got married with acne ?

Stacey, on August 16, 2019 at 1:25 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9
Maybe I didn't properly explain my situation in my 1st discussion. I have already contacted my derm and even seeked a 2nd opinion with other derms. They call said it's very unlikely any acne treatment will clear my skin before my wedding day. I have tried so many treatments over the course of my life and the only one that did anything significant was accutane. But even if I started accutane today, which I can't because I would have to do tests before getting it, it wouldn't clear my acne so fast. So other than a true miracle, I will be getting married with acne on most of my face. I can't be the only woman who ever had married with visible acne right ? RIGHT ?

I’ve had acne my whole life but proactiv works well for me. Trust me, I’m a wedding violinist and I’ve seen it all. Tons of girls get married with acne and it’s normal. With makeup you can’t see it from far away or in photos. You can only tell if you’re super close up.

I'm sure I have, but never noticed. People will focus on you, your significant other, and the love the two of you have. They will be too busy admiring your hair, dress, beaming smile, etc. to notice any imperfections.

Sorry that it's happening to you! I got engaged in January and my wedding is next month and went this whole time without wearing makeup just to get my skin in check - which worked but now with the stress it's coming back. I guess the only thing to do is grin & bare it! I'm sure people will be more focused on other things than your skin. We have to remember that no one pays attention to your flaws as much as you do.

Everyone focused on me is what is making me so nervous. I planned an out day at mid day. I don't know why I thought that was a good idea. I sweat excessively and my skin gets oily when with the best makeup. I am so screwed.

I know you said starting Accutane before your wedding isn't likely, but I would definitely be sure to hold off if I were you until after your wedding. If your skin doesn't react to it perfectly right away, I know you can have some issues and possibly flare up more as your body adjusts to it. But, my friend did Accutane in high school and she had pretty good results.

I don't personally struggle with bad acne, but what I might suggest - have you had a makeup trail with airbrush foundation? I don't know a ton about it honestly, but it seemed to cover my face a good deal better than regular foundation. I might would try it if your skin wouldn't react bad to it.
