Having a veil?

Julia, on July 29, 2019 at 3:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29
So I’m torn in deciding if I want a veil or not. What do you ladies think? I’m wanting to look very elegant but I don’t know if having a veil is the way to go.

I think a veil is a very classic look for a wedding. I personally love them and will be wearing one for my wedding ceremony then removing it for the reception. I think it adds to the "bridal" look so I would be in favor of one!

It really depends on how you feel in one! I’m not wearing one because I disliked how they looked on me.

I'm always pro veil. You'll never have another chance to wear one.

Thank you so much! No I won’t and I really want that bride feel and I know a veil will definitely make me have that feeling!

The way I thought of it was this: my wedding is likely the only time I'll be able to wear a veil. Plus, veils make me feel more bridal!

I was really REALLY anti veil until I saw someone on WW who had hers clipped under her bun. It accented her lovely updo instead of covering and I felt in love and decided to add a veil to my wedding attire.

It think of it more as an updo cape than a veil since it won't be 'veiling' anything. Smiley smile

Have you tried any veils on? I was on the fence about wearing one and then I tried one on in the store and it was the most uncomfortable, itchy thing I’ve ever had the misfortune of wearing and couldn’t wait to take it off (I have very sensitive skin and it was completely intolerable). I’m going with a tiara instead xD

I never thought I wanted a veil until I started trying on dresses. Once I picked the one I knew I wanted just a simple, short veil to be placed under my crown of ivy and lily of the valley. I think if you find a veil that goes well with your dress it can be a truly beautiful look. Play around with it.

I didn't wear one simply for the fact it just didn't look good on me. I went with a headband.

You can wear a white dress, have a big party, eat cake, and dance with your loved ones anytime. There is only one occasion you get to wear a veil.

I've never really been a fan of veils. That being said I decided on a birdcage veil. It also fits our 1930s theme.

How do you want to wear your hair? I am torn as well because in one way I want a veil but the other now so sure since my hair is a little flat and won’t get better with the humidity

I will always say go with a veil! I personally love the look of them and really think it ties the whole “bride” look together. When I was dress shopping I really loved my dress but I couldn’t quite say yes yet.. my mom picked out a veil and that’s when I could picture myself in the mirror with my fiancé and the waterworks started. You can always wear your veil for the ceremony and take it off at the reception.

Try some different styles with your dress. I was set against a veil until my dress came in and I tried one... finally teared up and had the “bridal moment.”

Hi Julia!! Have you decided whether you would like to wear a veil for your wedding or not? Have you said yes to your dress yet? That might help your decision!
