Having best friend walk me down the aisle

Sarah, on January 29, 2018 at 5:22 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
My father and I are not on the best terms. We had a large fight in which he said horrible, hurtful things about myself and my fiance (then boyfriend). We are on better terms than we used to be, but it's still rocky, as he refuses to admit fault or apologize, and still dislikes my fiance. I do not want him to walk me down the aisle, so I am going to have my best friend give me away. I do not know what to have him say though. I know it is usually "her family and I" or something along those lines, but I'm not sure that would work with a friend?

He doesn’t have to say anything. We omitted that part of the ceremony.

We didn't have that in our ceremony, either. Our parents walked us down, gave us a hug and a kiss, and had a seat without saying anything.

I'm having a parallel issue with my mother but was too ashamed to post about it. Don't know my father. We are having a Catholic ceremony. I may not even invite my mother.

I've decided to walk myself down the aisle. I moved out of my mom's house a long time ago. I give myself to this man. I do. No one else.

My friend walked herself down the aisle. She. Was. Stunning. Took everyone's breath away.
