Having photography regrets...

Anyone else wish they could’ve done something different? Just got my photos back and I’m sad that we ran out of time to go to the park...I was so scared of being late to the ceremony but maybe we did have time...I wish I could change it. Now my photos are all at one location at the ceremony site...

Now my photos are all at one location at the ceremony site with chairs everywhere...

Also there are no photos of us looking at the camera as a couple only!! There’s plenty of good shots but it’s all us kissing, looking away, at eachother, etc. Smiley sad This is the only photo we are looking and it’s ugly cuz it’s at a weird angle and he told me to look back and it was difficult due to my angle.cfb_1436787.jpg

Some good news, I found a YouTube tutorial on how to remove object easier including difficult ones. Also on Fiverr I see photoshop freelancers that can remove them for you and it’s not expensive! Someone was able to remove people and make it a couple photo lol. So at lease there’s that option.

Hi all. My photographer offered a free mini shoot this week. I am going to do it but I feel absolutely crazy for spending money on my hair, makeup and the tux again. Not to mention expediting it cuz the foliage is gone in the next couple weeks and we can’t wait lol. I keep telling myself memories and photos are priceless...

Thanks! I sent you a PM with a question. Basically asking when you did your reshoot, was it the exact same hairstyle and renting the same exact Tux or what? I’m thinking maybe more elegant but more casual if that makes sense like flowy curls and him just wearing a vest and tie with dress pants instead of spend like $200

Here was my reply, in case anyone in the future has the same question. 😊

Hi! So we wore our wedding clothes (I had bought a second dress when we thought we were going to do Plan C, so wore that, but he wore his suit). I did my own makeup and just curled my hair, though they were unintentionally similar to my wedding look. I love that we got pictures all dressed up since we only got a couple on our actual wedding day. That being said, I’m a HUGE proponent of getting the pictures done however you want them to be done! It was so much fun getting to spend hours on our pictures and we loved getting to know our photographers a better! If you’re thinking about it, I say go for it!

Oh ok so he already had his suit, he didn’t have to o out and rent again? I’m having a hard time justifying $285 for a suit and rush shipping so I’m considering buying a nice navy suit to keep from like Macy’s lol.

Yeah. We bought his suit for the wedding because it was about the same as renting (got it at Friar Tux). It’s always good to have a nice suit in the closet! You could even just have him get a suit jacket and slacks if you don’t want a full on suit.

Yeah I seen some nice navy suits at Macy’s, guys can always use a good suit at any event. I am excited to do another shoot. I think I’ll do it differently so it doesn’t seem like I’m trying to completely recreate the day. I have come to terms with my original wedding photos though Smiley smile

I understand. Maybe try thinking of them as the epitome of 2020? Not exactly what we had envisioned, a little disappointing, but then a reminder of our resilience and making lemonade out of the sourest of lemons (in this case, your “day after” shoot). They’ll be part of your story you look back on in 30 years and say, remember everything we went through together that year?

Haha! The “looking straight into the camera” shots have never been my favorite to begin with. So glad you got your re-do!

Thanks again for the encouragement and sharing your experience. Knowing other brides did and loved it help me move forward.

I am paranoid about such situations and I really want to party on my wedding, so we have booked our photographer with an engagement session to be.... after the wedding! lol

I am planning to pay 50% of the florals and rentals for the photo shoot (I do want it to be fancy) and the vendors will be able to use the pictures in their portfolios in return. This is a photo shoot of the couple my friend was styling after their wedding: https://www.eprisevents.com/gallery/laura-jeremy/
