Having useless dress regret

Kaitlyn, on March 26, 2020 at 7:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
It’s too late to do anything about it but I’m having major dress regret and my moms dress has already been altered for me to wear so I would feel super guilty getting a different dress and I can’t even get another one anyway because it’s too late.
I’m just venting I looked at videos of me trying on dresses at David’s bridal and got sad.
I feel like my wedding isn’t going to turn out the way I want it with everything going on right now.

What if you use her gown for the ceremony. And use your brand new one from DB for the reception?

I’m already wearing her dress to save money. And I don’t even know if we’ll have a reception right now with everything happening. I had a nightmare last night that I spoke with someone at our venue and they laughed in my face. I just feel so discouraged right now.

Is there something you can do to the dress? Accessories?

I’m trying to get accessories but I feel so defeated with everything like I’m not even excited about wearing my moms dress anymore I just feel sad like I should’ve gotten the dress I wanted and I feel like I’m not going to look pretty or feel at ease on my wedding day.

I think some of us have dress regret but once you’re all dolled up, hair and make up, earrings, etc. and you see the smile on your loves face, all regret will fade away.

If you want, you can post the pic of your dress and people can help with accessories for you! Otherwise, looking into a second hand or off the rack dress could be a cheap option.

I’ve been definitely having a lot of dress regret. I think it’s more common than you think. Do you have pics to share of your mom’s dress?

You look beautiful in the dress! And its super awesome that you can actually fit your mom's wedding dress. My moms dress wouldn't fit on 1 of my legs!!! Is there something you want to change about the dress? Seamstress' are great and can make it look however you want. Other than just tailoting it to fit maybe you can make some adjustments to it and make it your own, if you want. But it really is beautiful on and doesn't need anything. Don't let mainstream trick you into thinking you need more. They just want your money.

This like made me want to cry thank you so much. My mom’s aunt is a master seamstress and she’s working on the dress, she already shortened the sleeves they used to be longer with a tight button-up lace part on the forearm and she made it into the cute little puff sleeves it is now. It’s not that I don’t love my mother and miss her very much and wish so badly that she was at my wedding, but I had dreams about my wedding day and wearing her dress was never one of them but it’s too late to do anything about it now. It’s a beautiful lovely dress and I feel very proud to be wearing it, but it just doesn’t feel like it’s ME.
