Having your hair done for your special day without a trial run?

I just got married on September 7th! I had my hair and makeup done by a professional hair stylist/makeup artist, but I didn't go in for a trial run. A couple months beforehand, I decided to ask my hair stylist (whom I've been going to for the past few years) about getting my hair done for the wedding. I was curious to know if I could even afford it. But without me even saying anything about money---she told me that she would do my hair and makeup as a wedding gift! Wow, such a sweet lady! Lois suggested I bring in pictures of the look I wanted, so I perused online photos of up-dos, down-dos, and everything in between. I wanted to see what types of hairstyles could possibly work for me---and something that Lois would feel comfortable doing. I saved photos to a folder on my computer of the hairstyles I liked, and even went so far as to take a few pictures off my TV screen of hairstyles I saw on a couple of movies! LOL! When I went in to have my hair colored a month or so before the wedding, I showed her the online pics as well as the "movie" photos so she could have an idea of what I wanted. She got the general idea of the look I was trying to achieve, and the morning of our wedding, I high-tailed it over to the salon, and she started right in with doing the "'do" for the "I do!" It didn't take long for her to make me look and feel like a bride! I commented to her that she was quick to do her magic, and she said, "I'm an experienced stylist---I've done this a whole bunch!" She added the pearl and rhinestone hair clips I'd purchased and then added my veil to complete the look, then she started on my makeup. I don't wear a lot of makeup, so it felt like a lot was being done to make me feel like a bride. After all was said and done, she gave the salon chair a twirl so I could see myself in the mirror, then she gave me a hug, and off I went to the church! It was a fun experience for me, and she really did a wonderful job! I'm so thankful for her sharing her talent and expertise and her kind generosity to me! I've added photos of my inspiration as well as photos of my own hairstyle.
