Having your mother walk you down the aisle

Have you seen anyone do this? I'm sure there are plenty of brides who do not have a father or father figure currently in their lives. My mom has been everything to me and it's really important that she be the one to give me away. I haven't really seen many pics of brides doing this on pinterest....

Should she wear a dark dress to contrast me? Does she have a bouquet too? What have you all seen and what do you suggest?

My mom walked me down the aisle. (Excuse the watermark, we don't have our edited pro pics yet.) She wore gray, which was one of our colors, but it is not a necessity for the MOB to match the wedding colors. I also got her a wrist corsage.

My mom is walking me, my dad passed 13 years ago. She can wear whatever she wants, although she may have found a dark purple dress she wants (which, is the color I want for my only BM my MOH) - she'll have a wrist corsage ...I haven't decided if I want to do a dance or not, but I don't think so..

Does anyone have pictures of both parents walking them down the aisle? I am curious about the dynamic!

My mom is wearing a white dress (eye roll) so she will not be walking me down the aisle because I would not want anyone to confuse us.

My mom will be walking me down the aisle. I wouldn't have it any other way.. My father passed away when I was 17. She will be wearing a beaded champagne colored dress with a wrist corsage.

My mom is walking me down the aisle. My dad passed away 3 years ago, so I'm happy I have my mom and she will be by my side. My mom won't have a bouquet or any floral arrangement. Her dress is a champagne gold, so a little darker than mine. Hope that helps. Smiley smile

My mom would love to walk me. Her and my dad don't get along (10yrs divorced) and I am so close to my mom but don't feel I can rob the experience and the honor from my dad. I am contemplating them both, but I say if you want your mom to walk you DO IT !!!! She will be so happy.

As for attire: I'm telling my mom to wear whatever the heck she feels comfortable and happy in because that doesn't matter to me, but if you'd want her to contrast you maybe choose one of the colors in your palette ?

I think that's fantastic! Both of my parents are walking me down. I think having her in a bit of a contrasting color will look lovely. My mom and FMIL will be wearing the same color (navy blue) as my bridesmaids but obviously different styles. Smiley smile

My mom walked me down the aisle (Dad hasn't been around since I was 2). She wore a black and white dress which looked great. She said it was the greatest honor of her life.

I love it. My cousin walked his little sister in last weekend.

She just needs a corsage. And she can wear whatever she wants. It'll be beautiful no matter what.

I wouldn't have anyone other than my mom walk me down the aisle. And I've known this since I was 10. FSIL was torn between having her step dad (who raised her since before she was 2) and her biological dad (who guilts her with everything) walk her down the aisle. I told her to have her mom do it since I was doing it and she loved that idea and had her mom walk her. Haven't looked at dresses for my mom yet but I have a feeling she will pick a navy blue since that is pretty much the only color she owns besides black. FMIL wore champagne when she walked FSIL down the aisle. She wore a pin corsage I believe

I had both of my parents walk me down the aisle because my mother has been everything and more in my life too. My mom wore a navy dress to match the BM dresses and had a bouquet a little smaller than them.
