Hawaii Elopement

Monica , on February 17, 2018 at 4:32 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
I am recently engaged (2/6/18) and am seriously considering a destination elopement. With the research that I’ve done, I am already concerned about the significant cost and stress that goes into a traditional ceremony and reception as we are going to be paying for our own wedding (our parents don’t have the means to help much financially). I would love to elope in Hawaii and have a ceremony and honeymoon all in one. My fiancée is on board with this. I am worried that our families would be disappointed with our decision but I guess there is always the option of having a reception later on in our home town. I was just wondering if anyone who has gotten married in Hawaii has any recommendations for ceremony sites, hotels, excursions, planners, overall cost etc. Thanks in advance!

This sounds lovely. Don’t feel forced into the reception as you will be stuck paying for that as well. If anything maybe a casual bbq in your or a parents back yard that is catered.

Anyways we got engaged in Maui in front of the Four Seasons in Wailea beach and it was magical. We saw a ton of elopement and destination weddings.

My fiancé and I are getting married in Hawaii and having a reception when we come back. Per etiquette, everyone is invited to both, but of course only about 20 people can just pick up and go to Hawaii. Our reception will have roughly 220 people. It’s still far more than I wanted to spend, but far under his budget. In the end, we are still saving about $10,000 between a Salt Lake venue and catering. Honestly, the majority of our expenses are coming from the reception when we come back. The ceremony itself is a package deal we got through WeddHawaii. We did cover the plane tickets for our bridal party as well as hotels (just my mom and our two 18 and 19 year old sons). The package covered literally everything except that and our outfits. They even have limo service to and from airport, marriage license, and the ceremony. So the package did save us thousands.

Hello, we are considering going to Hawaii for our eleopment and honeymoon. It will just be two of us. Does anyone know the route to take to actually get married there ?? I have called resorts and they don’t know much. We are from West Virginia and I know we obviously need our marriage license but how do w go about finding someone to marry us there?..
