Hawaiian Honeymoon! My reviews

Jamie, on January 10, 2012 at 12:33 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7

It was so freaking amazing!! We booked our trip through Liberty Travel, best idea ever. We were met getting off the plane with leis and a bus straight to our hotel and free breakfast for 5 days for the both of us.

We stayed at Waikiki Hilton 2 blocks off the beach. Beware of the strip on the beach, so expensive! There are tons of name brand stores like Prada, Chanel, Tiffany's..etc. if that's how you wanna spend your money. We went to Hard Rock and Senor Frogs and split burgers just for the experience of going and getting souvenirs.

DO NOT go to the beach vendors with signs saying Helicopter Tour $25, it is a gimmick to get your credit info.

We went through Tours 4 Less- (808) 923-2211 www.tours4lesshawaii.com Great people and prices, they set up your tours and transportation also.

Our travel agent for Liberty is

Do you mind sharing the cost?

Glad you had a good time. For your next trip you might consider one of the other islands. They're all so different that it's good to mix it up.

Take a sweater! The mornings are cool and you may want one in the evenings also.

Wear a summer dress for the Luau, I wore jeans and my bride shirt and I felt out of place.

Wear a bathing suit under your clothes, you never know when you will end up in the water.

Everyone there is beyond nice so bring your smiles and aloha and hang loose hand cause the people there really go above and beyond to be friendly.

Try Poi! It tastes like dirty glue, but you have to for the experience.

Beware of Pearl Harbor, all the things we have seen on TV and read in school will not prepare you for the horror of the reality of it. It was so sad and has a funeral atmosphere to it. I was beside my self seeing this up close.

Para-sail! Just because you have to, its a smooth ride and not scary and jerky like I expected.

Climbing Diamond Head is harder than you think, yes it is a sidewalk/walking path/stairs on the way up but you will get winded since you are climbing at such an awkward angle.

We paid a little over $3000 for a 4 maybe 5 star hotel with beach view from Jan 1st to Jan 6th, bus back and forth to airport and flights. For the Luau we got ripped off through the beach people, it was like $150 for the both of us. We payed almost $600 for going down in a sub for a 45 minute tour, para-sailing, Pearl Harbor and Arizona Tour, Sunset Dinner Cruise, Toured guided hike up Diamond Head and transportation for all of it back and forth to our hotel. The Army Museum is free and cool.
