Head Table Decor--Same, Different, Something Else?

Mrs.Goose, on January 13, 2015 at 5:09 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 27

I thought I would post and see what everyone is doing for the head table decor. We are doing a traditional long table with us in the middle and our bridal party on either side.

My question is, are you decorating your head table the same as the others? Or are you doing something totally different? I have enough centerpieces to keep it all the same but I wanted to see what everyone else is doing! Oh and if you have pictures I wanna see!

I've been talked into a traditional head table by my bridal party. We are having a long table holding 10 of us, and we will have fancier linens than the rest and we will use bouquets and tea lights as decor versus the candle tree centerpieces that the rest will have. Also, we will have gold chargers

I was having the same thought. Between our bouquets and candles, it almost seems like enough! Thank you for your input, glad to hear from someone else!

I did not do our table different (we actually sat in the middle of a large table in the center of the tables, kind of like a Kings Table I think it's called) I wanted a cohesive look so doing something different for ours didn't occur to me. I did make my own Bride Groom chair signs which turned out perfect and were really easy. Very glad I did those!

Our sweetheart table is actually different! There's a gold sequined tablecloth for it and different centerpieces.

We did a sweetheart table, and it had different linens than the guest tables. Our colors were purple/silver/white so the guest tables were white linen with purple runners and our sweetheart table was purple with a purple/silver patterned cover:

We are doing a sweetheart table. I'm going to use my bouquet as our centerpiece, with votive candles at the base, and an ornate silver ampersand on the table.

Some unsolicited advice on head tables: please let your bridal party's dates/SO sit with you! My good friend had a head table (unbeknownst to me until I arrived at the reception) and I wasn't able to sit with my bf, who got to sit with my parents and sister and I was super bummed to be separated from them.

@Anna- Wouldn't that be a Kings table instead of a head table?

or maybe I just don't know what the differences are..

We're maybe adding a little extra, a Mr & Mrs sign, maybe a different pattern of scattered flowers.. I'm not sure yet.

We're having a sweetheart table, with a centrepiece similar to this Smiley smile The other tables will have simple greenery with some flowers thrown in (which we are doing ourselves. Yikes!).

Our head table will have the same theme, but slightly different decor. All the tables will be tied together decor-wise by the same gold chargers, and votive candles, table "thank you" cards, glittered pumpkins and grapevine wreath.

Ours will be a mini head table. Due to our BMs having kids. It will be us, MOH and bM only. We will have blue linings not white and the centerpieces will be a larger version of the others.

Some people may not like this, but each of our tables have the same elements, Glass (Wine bottles with lights), Wood (peices of cut wood slabs to vary the height of the bottles), Natural elements (moss runners & such & Antlers, so the head table will be similar, except instead of antlers, there will be a European mount buck & a European mount doe.

I know it's not for everyone, but it really fits us & they mounts we hunted by ourselves during our first year together & done by my own hand. & will will have an "&" between them covered in moss like the mantle decorations. The Buck & Dow basically stand for "MR. & MRS." w/o just coming out & saying it.

It was my FH idea, but I love it.

Depending on our final guest count, our head table may be broken down after dinner to make room for the dance floor, so I hadn't put much thought into the tablescape. BM bouquets will serve as the flowers

We are using different linens for our sweetheart table. Since the table is so small, my bouquet and some votives will be plenty for it.

The first picture is how the guest tables will look and the second picture is our sweetheart table look. The fake bouquet was for an idea of how the centerpiece colors would look. The third picture is just some cute signs I'm thinking of making for our table.

ETA: I have yet to figure out how to make those table pictures be rotated correctly. Every other picture I post is fine.

We'll be using the gold centerpiece vases to hold our bouquets and then we'll just have some of the gold and cobalt candle holders with lit candles on the tables.

We used the bouquets and candles for the king table and also used sequin table runners. (this helped tie in the king table with the other tables as I had used sequin table clothes on half of my tables)

First two pictures are the king table and the third picture are the other tables.

Our head table will be very close to the guest tables. Our center pieces will be slightly longer (rustic wood planters with paper flowers,) and i was thinking of adding a sign or something in front of me and FH. Either on the table or hanging in front.
