Head table

Stacey, on February 1, 2021 at 10:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 16
I’m wondering if it’s worth having a head table, or if we should just have a sweetheart table. We only have one person standing for us on each side, the moh and the best man, so I’m thinking it’s unnecessary for them to be sat at the head table and they would probably find it much more enjoyable to sat with their dates.. would love to hear what others think.

We’re just having a sweetheart table. That gives us some privacy & they can sit with their partners.

Every couple I've met who had a meal at the reception suggests a sweetheart table

I'm pretty much always team sweetheart table. I think it just makes the most sense. Everyone gets to sit with their dates and the newlyweds get a semi-private space where they can call home base and take a breather.

Joining the chorus of sweetheart table.

We did it and really enjoyed having that space to ourselves. Yes, people came up (and we wanted pictures with tables), but during most of dinner... we had just a little bit of bubble of us. Really invaluable.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts! Sweetheart tables are not common here honestly and I was unsure but I’m thinking you have all convinced me

We decided to do a sweetheart table for the 2 of us and then we let family sit where they felt comfortable. We only have 4 besides us in the bridal party. I think it's all up to personal preference.

I agree with the others, a sweetheart table is perfect for your situation!

We're having a head table, but that's just because we have 4 bridal party members on each side. Plus, I like the look of a King's Table, kind of like in Game of Thrones!

Sweetheart is definitely the way to go!

My FH and I actually aren't planning on having any sort of head/sweetheart table at all. I'm hoping to talk our caterer into getting us a plate 15 minutes before dinner officially starts (while cocktail hour is still going) so we can eat real quick and talk to our guests while they're waiting to grab food/are in line at the buffet. We don't plan on having any wedding party, and neither of us likes to have people see us eat so it's a win/win for us.

I think a sweetheart table makes more sense if you each only have one person. I’m sure your people would rather sit with their significant other or other +1, and I think they might not love sitting at the front and having all eyes on them if it’s such a small head table and it’s not their wedding.
