Health and heels

S Mau, on September 18, 2022 at 7:27 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Recently and before I was formally diagnosed I had issues with my knees. Giving me a lot of pain etc. I got my heels and when they came in I realized they may not benefit my knees at all. But my dress has been hemmed to those heels. I’m afraid if I get anything else my dress won’t look right ? But also I just recently tore my meniscus so I know such big heels is a little silly considering. But I’m so stuck. And there’s only 27 days left !!!!

I would definitely gets some comfortable flats. Your health and well-being is way more important that pretty heels! 27 days should be enough time to get it re-hemmed.

How high are they? Could you switch to a wedge that offered a little more support? Also, if you are really worried, consider wearing super comfortable shoes. If your dress covers the footwear, you could wear super supportive (and fancy 😉) tennis shoes and be able to party the entire night instead of being miserable after 10 minutes

Another option could be platform tennis shoes. They can offer several inches of height, while still supporting the entire foot

I know you’re asking about shoes, but try wearing a knee brace so that when you’re dancing, your knee doesn’t get aggravated by the end of the night. Or therapeutic tape?

As far as shoes, I would def try to get the dress re-hemmed or try a wedge?

27 days is plenty of time to get a dress hemmed (I've had dresses hemmed in a few days in the past). If there's a specific pair of shoes you'd be the most comfortable and confident in, I'd definitely look into getting the dress re-hemmed. If you reeeeally can't get the dress re-hemmed, I'd say go with platform shoes since they're going to offer some height without putting your foot an at angle.

You have plenty of time to get the dress hemmed for flats. Unless the dress is short, no one will notice your shoes so comfort is more important in your situation.
