Heart breaking time - Wedding Postponing due to Cornovisus

Bperri1187, on March 19, 2020 at 9:49 AM Posted in Florida Planning 0 11

Hi There brides ,

I am supposed to get married May 24, 2020. If your wedding date is at the end of May, have any of you been postponing and or rescheduling? Our wedding is supposed to be in FL.

We're waiting to see. Our reverend is still willing to perform the ceremony and we are going to get our license on Wednesday. No idea if our venue or vendors are going to cancel on us. We still plan on being wed on May 23rd, but don't know if we might have to have our reception at a later date.

We are waiting to see as well. I am holding off on mailing out my wedding invitations, but will likely send an email blast to the entire wedding guest list. Our venue is working with brides/grooms with weddings in April right now. It's very much a day by day situation.

We have also discussed getting married then having a reception at a later time. I hope it works out for you. No matter what it will be beautiful.

We sent our invitations in January because we knew we would have people who needed to book flights and accommodations. We've received a little more than half of them back saying they'll come. But right now I don't know what to tell those people who RSVP'd yes.

And my shower for April 18th got postponed because my MOH was hosting at her parents house and they don't want to have a gathering and risk themselves or their elderly relatives getting sick. I totally understand but it's a bummer.

I'm trying to brainstorm where we could have the ceremony if our venue (public park in Broward county) closes down and cancels our event.

I hope you can figure everything out as well! We'll still have our specials days, I just know it Smiley heart

We are May 23 in a state park in New York and the venue was supposed to open April 9th, but is now not even opening until May 1. All our vendors are still willing to work with us if we still have it. We are looking into a tiny wedding with 27 people and then receptions with family around the country over the summer.

If we go that route, we will be hiring a videographer to take high quality videos so we can share those with family who cannot be there.

Oh, and we sent invitations at the end of February before everything went nuts. Since everyone had to travel, we knew we needed to get them out a little earlier...we invited 143 people. Looks like we might be making a lot of phone calls soon.

Our original venue was a museum that is now closed indefinitely, but we found a private owned venue (who we were already working with) that can accommodate us that day. We are planning on going ahead with a small ceremony with family and a few friends on our date, and we are getting married that day no matter what. We may consider a reception later but it would probably be intimate as well, It’s too much for me right now to think about rescheduling a big wedding that could potentially fall through again

We rescheduled to next May. It is very likely you will have to postpone. We wanted to be proactive about it, and I was sick of feeling like I was in anxious limbo waiting to see.

I’ve heard a few people suggest doing the ceremony and reception later on. I’m sure it will all work out in the end.

I was supposed to get married March 28th. We just postponed until October 17th. It was the only available date our venue had that worked with our other vendors.
