Heated tent wedding ?

Lisa, on January 28, 2021 at 1:32 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 4
My fiance and I are considering a few venues for our hopefully early April 2022 wedding in NJ/PA, and we've come across one that is basically a permanent tent with a full HVAC system. On the surface that seems awesome because it could give us the look we want (ceremony is right on a river!), But our guests could stay warm even on a cold day. The structure has some permanent walls but is mostly tent material. But I am a bit nervous, since I've never been to a wedding in a heated tent before. Anyone have experience with this ? Would you say the temperature inside would be actually comfortable for a wedding ? Any insights are appreciated, thanks!

That sounds quite interesting . . . and definitely the best of both worlds (view and comfort) if it actually works like you hope it will. Have you actually visited the venue to see the venue and see how it actually feels? If I were you, I'd ask the venue if I could visit to actually experience the heated tent and go from there.

Unfortunately the tent isn't set up right now 😕 they take the walls and stuff off from December through March, and then it goes back up in April. That definitely would be the best thing though to see how it feels inside when it's heated, we'll see if we will be able to wait til April to book. Thanks for the thoughts !

Aww man!! Well, are there any reviews from couples who used the tent as a wedding venue? If you can't find any, I'd at least ask the venue if they have heard any feedback from people who have used it in the past. In the meantime, I would recommend that you keep looking at venues so you don't lose the the time between now and April. If you find something you like better before April, book it. If not, at least you've used this time to look at other options and nail down that you think the heated tent will be the best options. You're welcome, and good luck! Smiley smile

Hi Lisa! I feel like your guests will be ok, especially because it's a semi-permanent structure with a full HVAC system!! It sounds like there's some legit insulation!

Did you ask the venue if they have April or winter weddings in the tent?? That would be helpful reassurance! But I've been to winter events in heated tents and have been fine, and there's a ton of restaurants who did heated outdoor tents for diners this winter - so it's definitely doable!
