Heels on the beach?

BeachBride, on August 28, 2016 at 8:00 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

My wedding isn't on the beach, it is in a church, but our pictures will be taken on the beach. My photographer said it'll take 45-60 minutes. I was all set on wearing jeweled sandals because of this and I didn't order the extra length wedding dress because I was going to be in sandals. After hanging out with one of my bridesmaids yesterday, I'm totally second guessing myself. She doesn't think sandals are dressy enough (my wedding dress is fancy, not a beachy dress) and thinks I'll look better in heels and my photog will take pictures of my shoes....

So now I'm totally second guessing myself. Has anyone wore heels and taken pictures on the beach? Has anyone worn sandals? I'm about to go throw on some heels and walk in the sand as a test hahahah.

How visible are your shoes really going to be during the ceremony? And your sandals will probably be more comfortable at the reception. If you really want to not have sandals at your ceremony, I would just look for dressy flats.

No, don't try it. Last beach wedding I attended was in July and her bridal party came down barefoot because they couldn't walk in the sandals she purchased for them. I could barely walk in my wedges and took them off

My cousin just had her wedding on a beach and her long gown looked amazing....and then she lifted it to reveal opalescent lightblue converses that matched her new hubbys white ones and the contrast made for absolutely stunning pictures

Sandals are fine! Unless you make a big deal about your shoes, no one will really notice them anyway. Comfort and the ability to walk are way more important. Besides, there are some really cute sandals and flats out there!

Heels in the sand is asking for a twisted or broken ankle. I think not limping at your reception or honeymoon should be your first priority.

If you dress is long enough you shouldnt see you shoes or maybe look at small heel for the ceremony and take them of for the beach pictures.

I'm pretty sure heels in sand is a terrible idea....

I had a friend who's wedding party wore pretty foot jewelry...so, essentially, they were barefoot, but had something pretty for the pictures.

Flat sandals would work well too.

Wear flats. A friend was in a Beach wedding and the bride was Barefoot and the rest of the girls with flats.

Sandals are fine! Comfort over bling! Your photographer will only take pics of your shoes if you want her to.

You could try sandals or those bottomless sandals which are jewelry you wear on your feet. I personally bought a pair of those bottomless sandals to wear on our honeymoon and I can not wait to do so.

I think I would break my ankle if I tried to wear heels on the beach. Sandals are fine, no one will even see your feet

My wedding is similar to yours---in a church, and we're taking pictures on the beach---my dress is also not beachy. My FMIL gave me a pair of cute clip flops to change into. If I don't wear them on the beach, I'll probably just go barefoot in the pictures.

Thanks for the reassurance! My dress is also a perfect length if I wear sandals or flats. If I wear heels it'll be too short. I'll stick to my first instinct!

My shoes were not visible in any of our wedding pictures. Definitely do not try to wear your heels on the beach. Plus, you'll never get the sand out of them and they'll rub your feet something terrible the rest of the night!! Hint: put baby powder on your feet before going out to take pictures to help the sand not stick to your feet!

I'd get some dressy sandals for the pictures or go barefoot.

    Heels+Sand=HELL

Every wedding I've ever attended that was taken place at a beach I was so annoyed. That's just me though.

    The idea is nice
