Do you know someone with a large backyard they'd be willing to let you use? I'd also be looking into community centers and parks where you can use your own catering

Where in Illinois? I know of a few places I’ve contacted.

The local parks dept will be your best bet. Their website (for city of your choice) has a listing of inexpensive event rental facilities and you can usually bring in your own vendors. Restaurant catering will keep the budget to a minimum.
