Help!! Cannot find a Rabbi to officiate!!

Rebecca, on August 15, 2018 at 1:42 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6

SOS!!!

My fiance and I are trying to have a mixed ceremony with both Jewish and Christian traditions. The problem is that most Rabbi's refuse to co-officiate with someone of another faith. Does anyone happen to know any Rabbi near NC (particularly Raleigh if available) that would be willing to officiate an interfaith wedding ceremony on May 18th this upcoming year???

I am a Christian marrying a Jewish guy. We are not having a rabbi marry us but from what I’ve learned over the past few years your best bet would be to find a Reform rabbi.

If you're going to find out who will do it, it would likely be a reform Rabbi... maybe try contact reform temples in the area and ask. Another option is to have a friend or family member do the Jewish part of the ceremony. My brother is officiating ours but we're still doing some of the basic Jewish traditions. There's not rule that it has to be a Rabbi unless it's very religious which I'm guessing isn't the case since it's interfaith.
