I bought mine on ebay and paid less than the rental price plus I will just sell them after and recoup some of the money. I got 100 for around 230 bucks, and 100 organza sashes for 50

Check out LinenTableCloth.com. They have chair covers for $2.49 including the sash. And if you create an account, log in, and use code potsagold, you get a further 10% off, making them $2.24 each. (This is for buying, not renting.) Or check out Craigslist or eBay for used ones.

I have been looking for the same thing, if you google wholesale linens I have found some for around $1.50 a piece to buy. Its cheaper that renting. If the wedding isnt that formal and the chairs are white just use a sash, i have seen it and it looks a lot better than what you would think!

We don't offer them, so I can only speculate on the price difference. My guess is that it's the labor and delivery that cost. To do 200 chairs with a sash you'll have 2 - 3 people working a couple hours. Plus a truck to deliver, plus a warehouse to keep them, and the other colors, and styles. Plus, the ones they provide have to be laundered.

I have a wedding coordinator that takes care of all the set up and take down of everything. So I am only looking at the cost of the covers and cleaning is from what i see in the price unless i buy them.

Is that to buy or rent? You could always purchase some tulle, or fabric to do your own sashes, then sell them afterward.

Omg I agree i have 200 chairs sooo here is what Im doing I bought white drop cloth it think it was like $4 something and i measused my chairs so that it would touch the ground and cut and i got 6 cover out of it which means im getting my covers for about .79 cents ...Now this all deponds on how large your chairs are but even if you get them for a dollar thats good. It requires a little more setup im puting tape on the back of the chair then molding it around the chair then puting a tulle bow to hide where I taped.....i just but one package n i havent been to home depot in awhile so i hope they still have the drop cloth but this is what im doing not as fancy as the other chair covers but it will get the job done .

I bought 143 white polyester chair covers off a seller on craigslist for $100. It was such a steal and I was excited but after I got them home, I realized I'd have to have them steamed and make sure there was a way to transport them wrinkle-free to the reception and THEN set them up.

After all that, I think what you're paying for isn't the chair cover itself, it's the labor for laundering, steaming, driving there to set up and then probably driving back to take them down.

I'm hoping I'll just be able to spritz them with wrinkle release and hang them up until the wedding.

I had a friend buy her chair covers online. They didn't fit properly and they ended up looking baggy. We spent the weeks leading up to the wedding ironing like 150 chair covers. The day of the wedding was stressful because there were friends putting on the chairs covers.

After the wedding, she wanted to sell them. But a lot were soiled or dirty or super wrinkled. She washed some at home and noticed they shrunk. Then she tried selling the ones that she didn't wash but it was such an odd number.

In theory, i know she tried to save money. I did the same for my wedding. But, there were so many little time cost associated with doing your own chair covers. If you really want to DIY something, there are easier, more fun and meaningful things that you can DIY.

I used a one dollar cover service and the covers were great. We got 200 covers and 200 sashes for $300.00. They were folding in plastic bins (we had to pick them up) so they were not wrinkle free but they just fine. We didn't iron them because there was no time.
