help - Color Scheme for January Wedding

Kristen, on August 4, 2020 at 10:48 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11
I never thought picking a color scheme for my wedding would be so difficult. I love fall but unfortunately the costs are too much to have our wedding during that season. Our wedding is scheduled for January and I really love a dark burnt orange (cinnamon from Davids Bridal pictured) but does this clash with a January event?help - Color Scheme for January Wedding 1

You can use whatever color you want. It doesn't have to be season specific. We got married in July and our wedding colors were red and black which are standard summer colors, but we didn't care because that's the colors we liked. My only warning is that we picked dresses from David's Bridal and the lighting was terrible. The dresses were bright red, but in photos they looked orange. I was originally very against going to David's Bridal, but I couldn't find any dresses I liked anywhere else so I didn't really research anything ahead of time. My advice is to order a sample and look at photos online of weddings with cinnamon dresses from David's Bridal to make sure you like how they photographer. Had I done this before I would have realized I didn't like how my color photographed, but again I went to David's Bridal at the last minute.

That color is gorgeous and think it's perfect for Winter.

You can choose whatever colors you like, regardless of season! I agree with the previous comment - get a color swatch in the fabric that you want the dresses to be in before you order the dresses, just to make sure everything ends up matching what you want. Colors often look a little different online than they do in person.

There's no set rule on color schemes during any season. They're more of a guideline. I think the burnt orange will be gorgeous.

You don’t have to pick “seasonal” colors. Do whatever you want. I personally think it’s really pretty

You can never go wrong with picking colors that are similar to each other! I think there is no rule against having a "fall" color wedding in January. Just like there Christmas in July kind of thing!

I think that color could work perfectly for a January wedding! You don't necessarily have to have a theme or pick certains colors because of the time of year. You can also choose accent colors that match this color well so it all blends nicely.

January usually looks pretty wintery still. You can definitely go for it! What accent colors were you thinking of? Greens and metallics are really flexible for pairing with a statement color.
